Course Description An intermediate level course reinforcing the fundamental skills of volleyball in each aspect of the game: passing, setting, hitting, blocking, digging
and serving. To become knowledgeable of the rules of the game, tactics and various offensive/defensive strategies.

Course Outcomes Students will:
Students will understand the importance of sound health and fitness principles as they relate to
better health and will be able to:
• Define the various health components of fitness.
• Recognize the physical and mental benefits of increased activity.
• Determine factors involved with development, fitness levels and training strategies.

Students will be exposed to a variety of activities providing them the opportunity to:
• Apply learned fundamental skills.
• Participate in a motivating and nurturing environment resulting in a greater sense of well-being
and self-esteem.
• Participate in active learning to stimulate continued inquiry about physical education, health and
fitness.

Students will demonstrate proficiency through knowledge and acquired skills enabling them to:
• Understand and utilize various training methods.
• Assess individual levels of fitness components.
• Identify common health and fitness myths along with trends involved with the evolving nature of
physical education.
• Develop an appreciation of physical activity as a lifetime pursuit and a means to better health

Late Assignments
Late assignments will be accepted with a letter grade
taken off for every day submitted late. Assignments
submitted later than two weeks passed the original due
date will NOT be accepted.

Incomplete Grades Makeup work:


Any makeup work and/or incomplete grades will be handled
on an Individual basis and only granted in exceptional
circumstances.

Policies Online/ Flexible Teaching and Learning:

1. To uphold delivery of quality instruction, the class may also use added online platforms and applications like Zoom Cloud Meeting, FB
Messenger, Viber, WhatsApp and the like.
2. No Special Examination will be administered unless an excuse letter from parent/ guardian or medical certificate noted by the guidance
counsellor and class adviser is presented
3. Attendance will be checked every meeting. A student must complete 85% of the session in order for him/her be given credit for
attendance.
4. Assignments are to be submitted on time. Failure to submit assignments is equivalent to a grade of 5.0.
