DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 9

Time frame: 60 minutes

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

B. Differentiate the types of adverbs;
C. Use adverbs correctly in sentences.

Now that we already know what is adverb


let us proceed to the types of adverbs.

1. Adverb of Manner

Adverbs of Manner tell us the manner or


way in which something happens. They
answer the question "how?"
Slowly Ma’am.

He speaks slowly.
How does he speak?
Cheerfully Ma’am.

They helped us cheerfully.


How did they help us? Fast Ma’am.

James Bond drives his cars fast.


How does James Bond drive his cars?

Most adverbs of manner end in –ly such as


badly, happily, sadly, slowly, quickly, and
others that include well, hard and fast.

sentences that has an adverb of manner in it.

2. Adverb of Place

Adverbs of Place tell us the place where Here Ma’am.

3. Adverbs of Time

Adverbs of Time tell us something about the
time that something happens. They can

Adverbs of time include afterwards,


already, always, immediately, last month, (Students give examples.)
now, soon, then, and yesterday.

4. Adverb of Frequency

An adverb of frequency tells us how often
