03 Trigonometric Identities (Notes)
What is an identity?
An identity is a statement that two quantities are equal that is true for all values of the variables for which the statement is
meaningful.
Example 𝑥 + 5 = 5 + 𝑥 is an since it is always true at any value of 𝑥. However, 𝑥 + 1 = 2, is not an identity since it is
true only if 𝑥 = 1.
