Blended Learning in ESL Classroom in Tertiary Level Education


Duration: 1 Days

Schedule
Session 1: (9.00 – 10.00) Introduction and welcome speech:
 Introductory speech and welcoming the participants into the workshop.
 Explaining basic guidelines for the workshop.
 Ask participants expectations from this workshop and their experience in other
workshops program.
Session Break

Session 2: (10.30 – 11.30) Blended learning, backgrounds and practices in education.


 Give a brief presentation about blended learning and its types.
Ask participants about their issue based on the given presentation.
 Ask for volunteers’ for sharing their own insights about this topic from their
understanding.
Session break

Session 3: (11.45 – 12.45) On session practice and group work.


 Give a short speech on Rotation model and its types.
 Provide instructions for conducting practice sessions on Station Rotation and Lab
Rotation Model.
 Ask participants to divide into three particular groups among them.
 Help participants to set up time limits and distribute the role of their group during the
practice.
 Observe their progress and evaluation based on the knowledge and information they get
from the previous sessions.
Session Break

Session 4: (1.45 – 2.45) Feedback on last session and brief discussion on other blended
learning models.
 Asking for sharing their experiences on the last session and their understanding on two
different models of blended learning.
 Discussion on Flex model, A La Carte model and Enriched Virtual model.
Session Break

Session 5: (3.10 – 4.00) Benefits and limitations of Blended learning and closing the session.
 Give a short speech on the importance and limitations of blended learning.
 Provide more information and resources for better understanding of the topic.
 Provide assurance for more support in the future (if they require).
 Ask for their issues (questions and answers) and feedback for making the workshop more
interesting and effective.
