1. Tell us about yourself?

 It’s okay to talk about your hobbies and interests but keep it brief. Try and focus
on related work experience. Remember having related work experience will put you
ahead of the competition.
2. What can you tell us about Rogers?
Interviewers ask this question because they want to flush out people who are randomly
applying for jobs. Rogers wants to find someone who truly wants to work at Rogers.
About Rogers
 Rogers Communications is one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies.
 Rogers provides customers with cable, Internet, wireless, and home phones.
 Ted Rogers founded the company in 1960.
 In July 2001, Rogers Media acquired CTV Sportsnet (renamed Rogers Sportsnet).
 In 2002, Rogers launched Rogers on demand.
 Rogers Communications owns Fido and Chatr Mobile.
 Finally, Rogers Communications owns Rogers Bank. Rogers Bank offers credit cards to
Canadians.
3. Why do you want to work for Rogers?
 Tell them you enjoy the service and products you get at Rogers and because if this you
would be happy to represent them.
 State you would like to grow your career in the communications industry and feel
Rogers is the best place to do it. Say you are impressed that Rogers is the first
communications company in Canada to launch 5G.
 Mention you would be proud to work for a company that is so dedicated to the
environment. Examples include a reduction in greenhouse gases, reduction of waste,
and dispersing green teams across the community (teaching communities across
Canada on environmental best practices).
 Finally, Say you are impressed that Rogers was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100
Employers, and Greater Toronto’s Top Employers in 2020.

4. What is your greatest strength?


 The best way to respond to this question is to describe the skills and experience that
you have which directly correlate with the job you are applying for. With this in mind,
review the job description and reassure the interviewer that you have the experience
and skills to do the job.
5. What is your greatest weakness?
 You should not deny you have a weakness or state strengths as a weakness (I am a
perfectionist, or I work too hard and neglect my friends and family).  State a weakness
that is required for the role but not a dealbreaker if you don’t have it.
 When you state your weakness make sure you say what you are doing to overcome that
weakness. For example, I have a fear of public speaking and I have enrolled in a public
speaking class to overcome my fear.
6. How would you deal with an upset customer?
 Listen and let the customer vent.
 Show the customer you care.
 Don’t blame the customer or the company.
 Try to solve the problem or find someone who can.
 Don’t make promises you can’t keep.
 Finally, it is important not to take it personally.  If you get upset you will take it on future
customers.
7. Where do you see yourself in five years?
 Have a look at the Rogers career website and find a job you could see yourself doing in
five years. Rogers will spend less time training if they can promote within.
8. Why should I hire you?
 Have a second read of the job description and find the skills and experience required for
the position.
 Next match the skills required for the job to your own skillset.
 Finally, reassure the interviewer you have the right skills.
9. Who are Rogers Competitors?
The Ladders state interviewers ask this question because they want to see that you have done
your homework and you are informed about the industry.
 Rogers Competitors include Shaw, Bell, and Telus.
10. Do you have any questions for us?
Tip! Don’t be afraid to ask questions during the interview. Asking questions throughout the
interview is important because it will allow you will build rapport with the interviewer.
