Photogrammetry
Creating 3D models with drones

The use of drones for photogrammetry could be a major contributor for human
building development and planning. In this course of our semester we are asked to write a
reaction about the video about photogrammetry. For an in debt learning of this topic, a general
overview was shown in the video on how can it be beneficial not only for personal use but
specifically for Engineering and Architecture.

The photogrammetry gives a wide overview of the land beneficial to see everything in a single
screen. This gives not only safety but also time for the mentioned common users such as the
engineers, architects, and surveyors. Compared to a human point of view, the 3D model
and/or the use of photogrammetry would also show the overlooked details hence having a
more meaningful and more accurate set of data, which is highly convenient and, again, time
saving. The 3D interface also envisions various potentials in to this matter, meaning it would
be easier to manipulate or experiment on different ideas on a field, a building, or a suburb in
a more comprehensive and visual approach.

In terms of the use of drones on a field, there could also however a slight risk of sudden
rainfall that tend to disrupt not only the system of the drone but also the entirety of the device
regardless checking the forecast on the weather. Hopefully this too shall also be one of the
considerations before deploying a drone for surveying and other photogrammetric purposes.
