demic discipline and qualified to
design and conduct sophisticated
research projects.
PROGRAM
Leading to the Ph.D. degree, the
program features specialization in
one of three disciplines-anthro-
pology, psychology, or sociology.

Three-Dey Seminar
The University of Pennsylvania
School of Nursing, in cooperation
with the Philadelphia AIN, will
hold a three-day seminar for in-
dustrial nurses on April 12, 19,
and 26, 1969.
The theme of the course,
"Stress," is planned to assist the
nurse employed in industry to im-
prove her knowledge and skills in
treating her employees. The pro-
gram will include discussion of
the psychological and physiolog-
ical changes experienced by in-
dividuals under stress, and demon-
strate the importance of recogni-
tion and early assistance.

Jean Spencer Felton, M.D., for
the past 10 years Professor of
Occupational Health at the School
of Public Health and the School
of Medicine, UCLA, has been
appointed Director, Occupational
Health Service, for the Depart-
ment of Personnel, County of Los
Angeles. The Department had
studied the advisability of estab-
lishing a full occupational health
program for its nearly 60,000
employees, in place of solely a
system of pre-employment physi-
cal examinations, and decided to
institute a complete preventive
medicine program, to modernize
its employee health conservation
activities.
Dr. Felton, further, has been
appointed Clinical Professor of
Community Medicine at the Uni-
versity of Southern California
School of Medicine, and becomes
Lecturer at the UCLA School of
Public Health.
Dr. Felton has served on
AAIN's Medical Advisory Council
since 1957.
