Metaphor: Interpretation:

The logo of the Young Naturalist’s Community is a symbolic

representation of its characters of acronym “YN” (which stands for

Young Naturalist) carrying a visual storytelling behind its formation.

While the concept is abstract and left to the viewers imagination, the

designer suggests this possible ways to interpret it

The negative space left by mirroring a 90

degree tilt Y and softening the vertices

leaves an effect of sun rising from a valley,

and the same effect of N gives the feel of

river emerging from the horizon in between

the valley

This tends to be children's’ first landscape

artwork in India. To symbolically represent

the logo, the sun might represent new life/

youthfulness, the water could represent

habitat for life, while mountains could

symbolize growth and achievement.

Furthermore the green-yellow gradient also

symbolizes “Young Naturalists” where the

green stands for natural sciences and yellow

stands for youthfulness.

The negative spaces also symbolically

represent a person (naturalist). The “=”

symbol behind the person stands for

“equity”: Everyone in the nature

conservation efforts are equal regardless of

experience level or skill
