All students enrolled at Bulihan Integrated National High School, should abide

by the codes of conduct stated here in. He/she is subject to any disciplinary
action upon failure to live up with them.
2.1. Attendance and Punctuality
All students enrolled are required to attend classes punctually and regularly.

2.1.1. Absences
A student is considered absent for a whole day if he/she:
a. misses all classes in a school day; or
b. is not present in a school-organized activity held in or off campus

2.1.2. A student exhibits absenteeism or truancy if he/she is absent in school at least five (5) days in
a quarter.

2.1.3. Excused Absences. The following are considered as valid reasons for being

absent. Any other reason not included below must have a special approval, in advance, by
the school head, class adviser and or any authorized school official:

a. If the student officially represents the school in any off-campus activity;

b. If the student is sick or has a medical emergency; or

c. If there is death of an immediate family member (parent, sibling, grandparent); or

d. Any other reason deemed similar in nature to those mentioned above.

2.1.4. Unexcused Absences
An absence is unexcused if:

a. it is not covered by any of the provisions under


Excused Absences; or

b. the student fails to present an excuse letter or any substantial record


such as medical/ death certificate within two (2) days of their return to
school.

2.1.5. Grounds for Intervention/ Disciplinary Action

a. Having five (5) unexcused absences (in a quarter) is subject to


intervention.

b. Absenteeism or Truancy is subject to intervention/disciplinary action.

2.1.6. Tardiness

A student is considered tardy if:


a. he/she is not in line formation at the start of the Flag Ceremony; or

b. he/she enters the classroom ten (10) minutes after the designated start of
a class period.

Appropriate intervention shall be
done when a student incurs five (5)
counts of tardiness.

2.1.8. Cutting Classes


The student is considered to have cut class/es if, for no


valid reason:
a. he/she is known to be on campus but is not in the classroom during a class period;
or
b. he/she leaves the class and does not return after twenty (20) minutes.

a. All students are encourage to wear the prescribed uniform whenever they
are in the campus during class days or during occasions when wearing the
prescribed uniform is required.

2. Prescribed checkered skirt (2-inch below the knee);

required;

d. Undershirts (including lady sando and camisoles) should be plain white and
properly tucked in. Printed shirts are not
allowed.

all times.

only one set of earrings or bracelet.

i. Wearing of dark glasses, caps, and/ or colored contact lens are not allowed in
the campus.

sleeve/arm

a. Hair must be neat and well groomed.

inches or army cut.

c. Shaven head and semi-bald styles are not allowed.

2.3.1. Textbooks

All books,modules ,and other reading materials must be well taken cared of
and kept in good condition through out the entire year. In case of loss and worn out,
the student is responsible for reporting this to his/her adviser and is liable to make
financial compensations as determined by the disciplinary committee.
2.3.2. Facilities
a. All students are responsible for all school equipment, furniture and other
materials entrusted to their care, as well as to the cleanliness and order of the
classrooms, stairway and all the facilities in the campus. Cleanliness must be
maintained at all times. Students must place pieces of papers,wrappers and others
trash in the proper waste container. Strictly, littering is not allowed.

2.3.2. Facilities

b. A student who is found to have been directly responsible for damages to


school property/property of others while within the campus or during an official
off-campus activity is liable to make financial compensations on the damages
caused as determined by the disciplinary committee and the Principal.

c. Writing on walls, Bulletin Boards and/or pages of books are serious acts of
vandalism and shall be dealt with accordingly. Students who commit act of
vandalism and performed inside and outside the campus shall also be duly
punished.

2.3.3. Personal Belongings

Students are advised to take care of their personal belongings at all times
such as books, bag, money, jewelries,mobile phone, etc. The school is not
responsible for any loss that may occur within the campus. Students should
report immediately the loss of anything to the class adviser or Guidance Office.
Students are not allowed to use cellphones during class hours. They are
responsible for the loss of cell phones in and outside the classroom. Should they
bring the cell phone inside, students must put the phones into silent mode.

This refers to Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 or RepublicAct No. 10627 which


requires all elementary and secondary schools to adopt policies to prevent and
address the acts of bullying in their institutions. The school shall adopt this act
for the protection and welfare of students

In carrying out the policy, the Committee shall compose of the following: Principal,
Department Heads, Guidance Coordinator/Teacher, Child Protection Policy
Coordinator, Supreme Student Government/SSG, in cooperation with Non-
Government Organizations (NGOs), and Local Government Units (LGUs) .

The school does not authorize the formation or existence of any


fraternity, sorority and other similar organizations which are noted for
their notoriety. More so, the school does not approve the student
joining fraternities, sororities, and other unauthorized organizations, nor
does it allow the recruitment of members and involvement in the
activities of these organizations.These are considered serious offenses
and thus, shall be dealt accordingly.

5.1 Daily School and Classroom Routine

a. Morning session students are required to attend the flag raising ceremony at 5:30
a.m. every Monday. Stand at attentionfor prayers and national anthem.

b. Silence and proper decorum should be observed reserved during the ceremony.

c.The teacher’s table in the classroom is for teacher’s use only, hence no student
should use the teacher’stable and chair. Likewise, unnecessary writing on the boardby
the students during their free time is prohibited.

d. No class or section is allowed to use the name of the school in holding outdoor
activities,parties, or programs without the permit from the principal.

e. Courtesy demands that students who wish to leave or enter the room should ask the
permission from the teacher.

f. Politeness also requires students to listen when a class mate is called upon to recite or
asking questions. Laughing at somebody’s mistake, giving uncalled for
comments and the like are not tolerated in the classroom.

The students should:

a.Pay respect to the proctor and examiner.

b. Take the exam in the designated area or inside the others’ classroom.

c. Refrain from making noise and glancing at papers or cheating.

d. Ask the proctor or examiner for clarifications regarding the exam.

5.3 After the Morning and Afternoon Classes

a.Students who are given routine tasks such as closing doors and windows, turning off
the lights and fans, arranging the chairs, cleaning the chalkboards and classroom, etc.,
should perform their duties before leaving the classroom.

b.Students must never rush towards exit nor run along the corridors after dismissal.

c. Students should walk silently when moving from class room to another or leaving
outside the campus.

7. THE DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE

The Discipline Committee conducts its investigation, submits its


findings and recommendations to the Principal who makes the final
decision. The Committee has the right to modify sanctions for
misbehaviors depending on the gravity of the case. The majority of
the Committee constitutes a quorum. It is the duty of the Committee
to cast his/her vote except the Guidance Counselor/Teacher.

weapons.

d.Possession, sale or use of deadly weapons and ammunitions and all forms of
explosives.

10.1 Disciplinary Procedures


a. Any complainant (student, parent or guardian) may redress his/her


grievances to the teacher concerned or Class Adviser or may refer it to the
Year Level Guidance Counselor/Teacher.

b. The Year Level Guidance Counselor/Teacher shall call the student


being complained to answer the charge against him/her. If the student is
found guilty, the Year Level Guidance Counselor/Teacher shall apply the
corresponding sanctions and shall inform the parents or guardians of the
erring student by phone or through correspondence.

c. If the student is found guilty, the Year Level Guidance


Counselor/Teacher shall apply the corresponding sanctions and shall
inform the parents or guardians of the erring student by phone or through
corresppondence.

d. In disciplinary case that warrants Home Intervention, the Year Level


Guidance Counselor/Teacher shall request Discipline Committee to
convene and decide on the case within five (5) days from the date of the
first hearing of the case.

10.1 Disciplinary Procedures


e. If the erring student is not satisfied the Committee's decision,


he/she may appeal the case in writing to the Principal within three (3)
school days after being informed of the decision. Meanwhile, the
student should make/do the intervention while the appeal is being
heard.

10.2 School Intervention
a. Intervention may be conducted by the subject teachers and class adviser or
Guidance Counselor/Teacher for minor offense only within five (5) school days
from the commission. However, maintenance and security personnel shall not
implement interventions; the Discipline Officer shall carry out the appropriate
interventions on their behalf within five (5) school days from the filing date.

10.3 Procedural Due Process


The accused party has the right to procedural due process as follows:

a. The student and his parent/s must be informed in writing of the nature and
cause of any accusation against them;

b. The student shall have the right to answer the charges against him, with the
assistance of his parent/s and counsel of his own choice, if so desired;

c. The student and his parent/s shall be informed of the evidence presented against
him;

d. The student and his parents shall have the right to adduce evidence in his own
behalf;

10.3 Procedural Due Process
e. The evidence presented and submittedby all concerned parties must be
considered and investigated by the Discipline Committee to hear and decide the
case.

f. The student and his parents must be informed in writing of the disciplinary
sanction that shall be taken against the student, if any.

g. The student will be referred for professional counselling or any external agency
such as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) or Philippine
National Police (PNP), if necessary.

10.4 Filing of an AnecdotalReport

a. An anecdotal report is a narrative account of the incident, detailing the date,


time, place, persons involved, and interventions or actions done, if any, by the
one filing the report.

b. Any member of the school community who witnesses, discovers, or learns of


the occurrence of a possible violation of Code of Conduct may file the report. The
person filing the report must affix his/her signature on the report.

c. The anecdotal report should be submitted to the Guidance Office


within three (3) school days from the commission or discovery of the
incident.

d. If an intervention is done, details of the intervention(s) should be


indicated in the anecdotal report. The report is signed by the person in
authority from the Guidance Office.

10.4.1 Anecdotal Report Evaluation

a. The Discipline Officer reviews the anecdotal report and determines the
nature of the offense.

b. If there is no indication of a violation of the Code of Conduct, the Discipline


Officer disregards the report and submits his/her findings to the School Head.

c. If there is indication of violation of the Code of Conduct, the Discipline


Officer shall make the necessary intervention(s), pursuant to Code of
Conduct.

10.5 Other Guidlines

a. In cases of violations committed beyond the school premises and school hours, the
school has the right to implement sanctions if the student offenses are done during the
school-sponsored activities off-campus and it affects the good reputation of the institution.

b. The school reserves the right to implement sanction and discipline for offenses listed
above to protect the safety and over-all well-being of the entire school community and the
common good of all its stakeholders.
