ISSUING AND EXCHANGE OF UNIFORMS:


1. In the case of new employee uniforms are issued against a special authorization letter from
HR department.
2. Uniforms issued to new employees should be according to the department and designations
of the employees.
3. For smooth operations there should be at least 3 sets of uniforms having marked for the
particular employees.
4. For regular employees ensure that they have arrived at the stipulated time.
5. Before receiving soiled uniforms it should be checked for any damages or repairing &
mending job.
6. If the uniform is damaged the employee can be worn or the amount can be charged to him.
7. The uniforms can be changed according to the size after a particular period according to the
company policy preferably after one year.
8. The uniforms should be exchanged on one to one basis.

TYPE OF UNIFORMS;
The uniforms can be classified as-
AS PER THE FABRIC: the uniforms can be classified as per the fabric used i.e. synthetic, cotton,
woollen etc.
AS PER THE DESIGNATION: it can be classified as per the employee’s designation i.e. manager,
supervisor etc.
AS PEWR THE DEPARTMENT: uniforms can be classified according to the departments i.e.
Front office, kitchen etc.
AS PER THE OUTLET: uniforms can be classified according to the outlet i.e. room service,
restaurants, banquet etc.
AS PER THE THEME: if the theme lunch or theme dinner is going on, the uniforms can be made
on theme basis also i.e. Chinese, Awadhi, mughalai etc.

The selection and designing of uniform is not an easy job. The popular choices for fabric are tricots,
suiting materials, drill, cotton etc.

1. GENERAL PROFILE OF EMPLOYEE: the profile of the employee is considered while
selecting the uniforms for them.
2. IMAGE AND IDENTITY OF THE PROPERTY: the image & identity of the property is

9. EASILY AVAILIBILITY OF MATERIAL: the material should easily be available when
new uniforms are required.
10. STAFF TURNOVER: staff turnover should also be kept in mind while selecting uniforms.
If the staff turnover is more, then the housekeeper should select free size uniforms like free
size shirts, trouser and skirts with elasticity.
