CELEBRATION
S.Y. 2022-2023
I. INTRODUCTION
Nutrition Month is an event observed worldwide, serving as a platform to raise awareness about the
importance of healthy eating habits and the role they play in maintaining optimal physical and mental health.
Throughout this month, individuals, organizations, and communities join hands to highlight the significance of
proper nutrition, emphasizing the transformative power it holds. As we celebrate Nutrition Month, we embark on
a journey to explore the significance of good nutrition and its impact on our overall well-being.
July has been designated as Nutrition Month in the country via Presidential Decree 491 in 1974 to create
greater awareness on the importance of nutrition among Filipinos. The month-long celebration with the theme
“Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable For All” shows the importance of making healthy food accessible and
inexpensive to all Filipinos to be able to get the required daily dietary intake needed to sustain physical activity
and good health.
Nutrition Month serves as a reminder that the food we consume is not just a source of sustenance, but also a
catalyst for growth, development, and optimal functioning of our bodies. It is an opportunity to reflect on our
dietary choices and to promote awareness about the importance of making informed decisions regarding our
nutrition.
The celebration of Nutrition Month, a time when we come together to focus on the vital role that nutrition
plays in our lives. This month-long observance serves as a reminder of the significance of making healthy food
choices and adopting proper eating habits to promote overall well-being.

Every one of us dreams of a healthy and fit body. Yet many of us tend to forget that health is largely
dependent on a healthy lifestyle particularly on proper food habits. There are times that we tend to take and eat
foods which are less nutritious and not needed by our body. Only then that we realize that our lifestyle is not
consonance with proper nutrition, when we experience illness or sickness due to improper food intake.
Malnutrition is indeed a problem not only by a certain individual but also in school.
In cooperation with this nutritional aim of National Nutrition Council, the Department of Education
enjoins all schools to participate in the celebration by stipulating activities that will emphasize the consequences
of veggies inclusion on meals and its accounts on the health of every pupil.
As part of Camarin D E/S Unit II Nutrition Month Activities,
1.Kinder – Fruit/Vegetable Headdress Contest (DIY paper crafts)
2.Grade 1- Poster Making
3. Grade 2- Dance or Tiktok (Nutrition Month Dance)
4. Grade 3 - Pupils will prepare filipino meal plate composed of the 3 food groups, Pupils will
take selfie with their meal plate .
5. Grade 4 -Fresh Vegetable / fruit salad making
6. Grade 5- Slogan Making
7. Grade 6- Fruit/Vegetable carving
These activities helped the students to give importance to the food they ate and a realization of
healthy living.
