Problem
Faced :-
“Scheduling and coordination of musical classes for a large number of
students.”
Handled :-
During my internship at the Mayoor School of Music, one of the key problems I handled was
the school had a significant number of students enrolled in various music programs, including
vocal, instrumental, and group of classes.

However, due to the increasing student population and limited availability of instructors and
practice rooms, scheduling and managing these classes became a challenging task.

As I, and my colleague is the only office administrator who can manage the all musical classes
without any interruptions. But at the end it was a huge problem which I suffer most.

It is important to effectively handling this problem because Firstly, it directly impacted the
learning experience of mine in Mayoor school of music. If there is timely and well-organized
class schedules so it ensured the students could attend their desired classes without any conflicts
and disruptions. It also allowed for a balanced distribution of classes across different days and
time slots,as per according the students preferences, also ensuring the equal access to learning
opportunities for all students.

Secondly, By efficient scheduling and coordination had a direct impact on the productivity and
effectiveness of the music instructors. By optimizing the use of practice rooms and instructors'
time, i aimed to create a streamlined and productive teaching environment in the Mayoor school
of music. Ultimately, this contributed to the overall growth and success of the music program at
the school.

23
Objectives
The objectives of doing an internship which I expected to do are as follows:-

 Assisting music teachers in preparing lesson plans and teaching materials.

 Supporting music classes and workshop by setting up equipment and materials.

 Assisting in organizing and coordinating music events and performances.

 Helping students with their musical instruments and practice sessions.

 Conducting research on music education trends and techniques.

 Assisting in administrative tasks such as managing student records and attendance.

 Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas for improving the music program.

 Supporting the marketing and promotion of music program and events.

 Providing feedback and evaluations on student performances and progress.

 Assisting with any other tasks or projects as directed by the school management

Research Design
 Survey Method -
Random Sampling:
In this method, I randomly select a representative sample of students from the
Mayoor School of Music. Random sampling can provide a fair representation of
the entire student population and reduce the potential for bias for me.
Convenience Sampling:
By my convenience I chooses the random participants. While it's easy to
implement, it may introduce bias as it may not represent the entire student
population.

 Sample Unit - All employers and students

 Sample Size - 50 employees
 Questionnaire

Data Collection Method

 Primary Data: - Primary data means data that are collected by different techniques

like questionnaire, Depth interview, Survey, Schedules etc. In this project, primary

data has been collected by the means of questionnaire.

 Secondary Data: - Secondary data means data that are already available i.e.: they

refer to the data which have already been collected and analyzed by someone else.

Usually published data are available in: Various publications of the central, state/local

governments or foreign governments, technical and trade journals etc. The secondary

data involved in this project has been gathered from the medical journals, literatures

and internet.

Introduction

Learning Management System :-

A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application or platform that allows

organizations and educational institutions to manage, deliver, and track various types of
learning and training activities. It provides a centralized and efficient way to deliver educational
content, track learner progress, and manage training programs.

In essence, an LMS empowers instructors to create and deliver educational content, monitor
student engagement, and assess their performance. For students, it offers interactive features
like threaded discussions, video conferencing, and discussion forums to enhance the learning
experience.

Learning management systems find applications across various sectors, including businesses,
government agencies, and traditional as well as online educational institutions. They enhance
conventional teaching methodologies while streamlining organizational processes, saving time
and resources. With an effective LMS, instructors and administrators can efficiently manage
tasks such as user registration, content organization, scheduling, communication, assessments,
certifications, and notifications.

To promote standardization in LMSes, the Advanced Distributed Learning group, backed by the
U.S. Department of Defense, has developed a set of specifications known as the Sharable
Content Object Reference Model (SCORM). These specifications encourage compatibility and
interoperability among different LMS platforms.

training to adhere to regulations. LMS helps organizations deliver and track such training
efficiently.

5. Certification and Skill Development: LMS is used to offer certification courses and skill
development programs to individuals seeking to enhance their knowledge and expertise in
various fields.

6. Blended Learning: LMS allows organizations to adopt blended learning approaches,

combining both online and in-person training to cater to diverse learning needs.

7. Performance Management: LMS can be integrated with performance management systems

8. Mobile Learning: LMS platforms offer mobile compatibility, allowing learners to access
training content and materials on their smartphones or tablets, promoting learning on-the-
go.

9. Resource Management: LMS provides a centralized repository for training resources,

making it easier to organize, update, and share learning materials.

Difference between LMS v/s LXP
 LMS (Learning Management System) and LXP (Learning Experience Platform) are both
software solutions used in the field of e-learning, but they have some key differences in
their functionalities and focus:

 Functionality:

LMS: A Learning Management System is primarily focused on the administration and

management of learning content. It provides tools for creating, delivering, and tracking online
courses and training programs. LMSs are often used for compliance training, employee
onboarding, and skill development.

LXP: A Learning Experience Platform, on the other hand, is more focused on the learner
experience. It curates and delivers personalized content to learners based on their interests,
preferences, and learning goals. LXP platforms often use AI and machine learning to
recommend relevant content and create engaging learning pathways.

 Content Curation:

LMS: LMSs typically offer a structured and predefined course catalog that follows a specific
curriculum. Content is usually organized into modules and follows a linear learning path.

LXP: LXPs emphasize content curation and allow learners to explore a wide range of resources,
including articles, videos, podcasts, and social learning content. Learners have more control
over their learning journey and can access content in a non-linear fashion.

 Personalization:

LMS: While some LMSs offer basic personalization options, their primary focus is on the
management and delivery of standardized courses to a large audience.

LXP: Personalization is a core feature of LXPs. They use data analytics and user behavior to
recommend relevant content that aligns with each learner's preferences and learning objectives.

 Social and Collaborative Learning:

LMS: LMSs may have limited social learning features, such as discussion forums or chat tools,
but they are not the main focus.

33
LXP: LXPs often include robust social and collaborative learning tools that facilitate knowledge
sharing, peer-to-peer learning, and interactions among learners.

 Integration and Compatibility:

LMS: LMSs are commonly integrated with other HR and talent management systems to
manage employee training and development.

LXP: LXPs are designed to integrate with various content sources and LMSs, allowing them to
complement existing learning ecosystems.

LMS Used by Researchers
Researchers use various LMS to support online learning. Based on the source, the LMS used
can be classified into two, namely LMS developed specifically by researchers or institutions
and LMS that are freely available or commercial, such as Blackboard ,Moodle, Edusoft, Canvas
and Blendspace.

In addition, based on access, the LMS can be classified into two, web-based and application-
based.

Rizal etal, developed an LMS named LMS3 (Learning Management System Supported
Smartphone). This LMS can be accessed using a PC or laptop and a smartphone. In addition,
this LMS also supports synchronous learning. Then Saputro et al , developed an LMS named
BERSAQURAL. The LMS is founded upon scientific principles, the teachings of the Qur'an,
and observations of the natural world. It utilizes open-source materials and employs an adaptive
approach through ProblemBased Learning. Additionally, the LMS is equipped with features
such as plagiarism checkers, download facilities, and rating menus. Furthermore, Thepwongsa
et al and their colleagues at the faculty developed an LMS named KKUMEDX. This LMS
allows users to adjust the function and appearance more flexibly.

Literature Review
According to Araújo Júnior and Marquesi (2009) a Learning Management System, widely
spread as LMS and, hence the use of this acronym in this study may be defined, in the user
perspective, as a virtual environment that aims to simulate face-to-face learning environments
with the use of Information Technology. In an LMS, the interaction happens through devices
that enable communication either synchronously or asynchronously, allowing the creation of
different strategies to encourage a dialogue and active participation of students.
According to Lonn and Teasley (2009) Learning Management Systems are web-based systems
that enable teachers and students to share materials, to submit and return assignments and to
communicate online. Meanwhile Almrashdeh et al. (2011) point out that an LMS is software
used to plan, implement and evaluate a specific learning process.

In LMS, mediation involves both the acquisition of competences and communication skills of
all teachers and students, and a greater concern to create interaction moments and practical
application possibilities of collaborative work, with that learning process happening in a
participatory manner.
For that, the teacher relies on communication devices, such as chat rooms, forums, blogs, video
blogs (Souza, 2005; Sartori & Garcia, 2009; Rosini, 2013). To these authors, it is necessary to
consider that an LMS must seek to get the best advances in technology available today, for
reasons of efficiency and for enabling the maximum degree of interactivity and communication
among users. Learning and collaborative work have become fundamental and technological
advances should lead to the achievement of high interaction levels. The first LMS appeared in
the nineties, along with the first web browsers.
According to Silva (2013), Learning Management Systems are often criticized, due to the belief
that these technologies simply virtualize non-virtual classrooms. However, according to the
author, they are not the main problem, but the way they are designed, structured and crafted.
Furthermore, the use of an LMS requires careful studies particularly in relation to educational
and financial aspects.
