CHAPTER 1:

INRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Traveling is a part of our daily life, weather it is for

work, school or just to have fun and be relax. Traveling
gets us the place we want from point A to point B. In the
province of Aurora, Dingalan is one of the best tourist
spot for people who want to escape the city life and unwind
specially at summer season.

The municipality of Dingalan is a 3rd class municipality

that have a total population of 27,878 according to the
Census of 2020, this population represented the 11.83% of
the total population in Aurora, or 0.22% to the overall
population of the Central Luzon region. Dingalan is a
coastal municipality in the province of Aurora that has a
land area of 304.55 square kilometers which constitutes
9.72% of total area in Aurora.

With that said the municipality of Dingalan is

continuously growing and more and more people traveling to
Dingalan from other cities, that’s why proposing a transit
hub located in it will be ideal, not only will be
beneficial to the people of Dingalan but also to other
nearby neighborhood.

Transit hub will serve as a connecting way to get to

another places, however, a lack of public transportation
and having to go to another city just to have a ride to
your exact location is hassle and time consuming to an
individual, like for instance going to manila or even

pampanga from dingalan or laur, you need to go to
cabanatuan city just then you can take your ride.
This study aims to come up with a suitable approach on
proposing a transit hub that will be beneficial to all
aspects. By examining the state of the current
transportation in the area and incorporating the needs of
the people that are frequently using public transportation,
this study aims to provide a well suitable recommendation
for the developers to have a proper guided output that are
included the end-users needs.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study is mainly objective is to determine what is

the possible impact of developing a transit hub in
Dingalan, Aurora to its end-users and nearby community.

This study expected to answer the following questions:

1. Is developing a transit hub in Dingalan, Aurora is

significant?

2. How will the project contribute to its community

and nearby neighborhood in terms of the following?

2.2. Culture
2.3. Economy
2.4. Education
2.5. Tourism

The result of the study would benefit the following

A. The local residents - The project will provide a

business opportunities to the locals to offer their
services of products.

B. Neighboring towns/cities - the project of transit

hub will not be cater just the local residency of
dingalan but will also extend their service to other
towns or cities by providing a bus stop where the
passenger will be waiting until their ride pick them
up.

C. Economy - This project will significantly increase

the economy of the municipality and also provide
increase in revenue which will come from
property,sales, and other taxes.

D. Culture - The transit hub will serve as a place to

welcome travelers, where the municipality of dingalan
will be introduce the culture and what it is in the
place of dingalan to the first time visitors.

E. Travelers - This project will be beneficial to the
people who will travel to different places specially
the one that use public transportation. The project
will be offering efficient traveling to the end-users.

F. Researchers - This study will serve as a data for

future researchers to help them gather a supporting
data that are related to their studies.
