Presentation Skills Worksheet: Ending a Presentation

A | Read the Presentation Skills box on page 180 of your Student Book. Then read the information
in the box below.

Ending a Presentation
You have practiced many useful presentation
skills such as making eye contact, speaking at an
appropriate speed, adding interesting details, and
preparing your notes. In addition to these skills, it
is important to practice ending a presentation
successfully. You should prepare a conclusion for
your presentation beforehand. The conclusion
will be the last information that your audience
hears. A strong conclusion reminds your audience
members of important information and
encourages them to care about the topic.

B | Use the prepositions from the box to complete the concluding statements below. Compare your
answers with a partner. Then practice saying the sentences out loud.

C | Turn to exercise B on page 171 of your Student Book. Look at the three natural attractions. Work
with a partner and prepare a short presentation about these attractions. Pay special attention to your
conclusion. Practice the presentation with your partner. Make sure that you smile and look confident at
the end of the presentation.

D | Work in groups of three. Do not work with the same partner that you worked with in exercise C.
Listen to your group members’ presentations and give your own presentation. Pay special attention to
the conclusions of each presentation.

E | Evaluate your group members’ conclusions. Circle yes or no.
