Dravidian language family:

One of the oldest civilizations in the world is Indian civilization, which is actually proven to be
the Dravidian civilization. (Harappa-Mohenjo-DaroCivilization)

The Dravidian language family is the second largest in India among other language families.

Kumarila Patter was the first person to use the term 'Dravidam.'

It was Frances Ellis who did intensive and extensive research and classified and declared that
Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam belong to separate South Indian language families.

Linguists called the Dravidian language Tamilian or Tamulic.

It was Dr. Caldwell who wrote “Comparative grammar of Dravidian Language” called Tamil,
Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada as Dravidian languages

There are 28 languages connected with Dravidian languages in South India.

Tamil is the oldest of all these Indian languages.

20% of the Indian languages come from Indo-Dravidian languages.

Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam-speaking people are the majority among the people
who speak Dravidian languages.

Dravidian languages existed in India prior to the arrival of Any ones in India.

Opinion of western scholars about Dravidian languages

Many western scholars, like Professor Max Muller, H.P.Hetsen, Professor R.E. Roberts,
Stephenson, and others like Lasser and Rask, also did exhausted research on Dravidian
Languages and established the fact that these dravidian languages have been existing
independently without any dependence on other languages like Sanskrit.
Indo-Aryan languages: –

Indo-Aryan language family occupies a predominant position based on the current population charts.
In the old Indo Aryan languages family, a few languages were just for the spoken languages only.
Magathi, Arthamagathi, Suraseni are some of those Spoken Languages. Languages like Sanskrit, Pali,
Pragrati are famous for their wealth of literature. Sanskrit is used in the Hindu ceremonies to perform
rituals. Pragrati and pali languages and are existing in the books only.
The present new Indo-Aryan languages have become fully grown languages just 1000 years before.
Indo-Aryan languages and spoken in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Shi Lanka, Maldives in addition to India.

Other Languages
There are majorly two groups of languages in the Andaman and Nicober Islands.
The Andaman language is closely associated with African language. The Andaman language is being
spoken by only 1000 people. Nicober Islands languages are spoken by around 10,000 people only. Some
people think that it belongs to Asteric– Asian language family. The people who are speaking Chinese,
Somali and Arabian languages do live in India. Approximately 1.5 lakh people speak English at home in
India. Portuguèse is spaken in Goa, and French in pondichery. Arabian and Persian languages are the
important languages spoken in India and many people accepted that the Persian language as Indian
Language.
