II. Objectives:
a. Discuss the etymology of philosophy;
b. Identify whether the statement is anthropocentric, cosmocentric, or theocentric; and
c. Interpret a photo base on the three views of philosophy.
IV. Procedure
STAGES ACTIVITIES
• The class will start by asking the students to explain a quote:
EXPLORE/MOTIVATION One Thing I Know is I Know Nothing.
• The students will answer ENTRY POINT on page 11.
• After answering the questions, the teacher will ask the
students what makes them ask questions.
FIRM • The students will explain one by one.
UP/INTRODUCTION • The teacher will ask about their assignment, which is the
summary of the lesson.
• The teacher will direct them to the lesson.
• The teacher will let the students discuss about the lesson
according to their understanding.
DEEPEN/ DISCUSSION • The students will read the topics under Wonder, Knowledge,
Ignorance on page 11-14 and let them explain base on their
understanding. The teacher will give them additional information as
well.
• The teacher will discuss about Philosophical thoughts.
Activity 1
Identify whether the statement is anthropocentric, cosmocentric, or
theocentric.
1. Man is the measure of all things.
2. God is that than which no greater can be conceived.
TRANSFER
3. I think, therefore, I am. I am, therefore, I exist.
4. Fire lives in the death of earth.
5. Man is condemned to be free.
V. Assessment/Assignment/Agreement
Create a concept map about the word “PILOSOPO”. Write it in a 1 whole sheet of paper.
