I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature in the
Period of Emergence as a tool to assert one’s identity; strategies in listening
to and viewing of informative and short narrative texts; word relationships
and associations; informative speech forms; and use of direct/reported
speech, passive/ active voice, simple past and past perfect tenses, and
sentence connectors.

B. Performance Standards The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting one’s identity;
comprehending informative and short narrative texts using schema and
appropriate listening and viewing strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and
feelings through various formats; and enriching written and spoken
communication using direct/reported speech, active/passive voice, simple
past and past perfect tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

The students will create a reaction paper in an essay format .The reaction
paper must be at least 200 words with 3 paragraphs (Introduction, Body,
Conclusion).

Guide Questions:

1. What is your stand about “teenage pregnancy” in the Philippines that has
been highlighted in the story “Footnote to Youth”.
2. As a youth, how can you address this issue and give one possible solution?
3. What have you learned after reading the story?

Criteria:

The teacher will let the students to share their stand about the main issue in
the story “Footnote to Youth”.

V. ASSIGNMENT

GROUP VLOG

Direction: The class will be divided into five groups. Each group will make a creative vlog about “Teenage
Pregnancy”. Every member should participate having equal exposure in the vlog. To be submitted next week.
