ANSWERS:

1. Hazel’s customers most likely to judge the quality of her lawn care services
not just by the outcome of her service but also her attitude and
determination. Usually, home owners who hire someone to mow their lawn
look into the service cost and if the cost is worth to keep the area look its
best.

2. A. The things that she would likely require to forecast is the season that she
is in. Different seasons will allow the grass to grow at a certain rate. For
example, during winter, the grass will not grow as quickly as they would
during spring and her service would not be necessary for home owners.
This would mean that during winter her income will decrease.

B. I would expect Hazel to have items such as lawn mower,herbicides,


fertilizers, shovels and gloves. There are inventory decision that she has to
make based on the season that she is in. For example, the season is winter
she won’t necessary need herbicides for the weeds because it grows less
during cold seasons. Therefore, the need of herbicides would decrease.

3. A. Trade-offs between time that will be wasted when looking for a job and
the money that she will gain when she renders lawn services

increase cost required to expand the business.

4. Hazel’s option would probably be expanding and adding up additional
services in her business like collecting and disposing of the trash grasses.
The advantage is that there will be an additional income and additional job
opportunity. The disadvantage is the cost of the additional equipment that
would be used in the new service.

quality of her services. She must also consider providing promos and
discounts to her regular customers.
