PRIDE LEADER CONTRACT

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have been selected to participate in Lawrence Middle School’s Pride Program.
The Pride Program is designed to assist 6th grade students, new to Lawrence, in becoming familiar with the campus,
comfortable with their surroundings, and confident in their ability to succeed.

You have been recognized by your teachers as showing leadership qualities, as well as a thoughtful, caring and kind
attitude. 6th graders need support- and that’s where you come in!

You will be assigned a small group of 6th grade students from a Homeroom class. You will meet with them on a
regular basis, keep in contact with them at school and at home as needed, and make sure they know that you “have
their backs.” Our goal is to take the fear out of their first year in a “big” school where some of the 8th graders are
REALLY intimidating and scary.

By agreeing to be part of the Pride Program, you are promising to be a good example on and off campus, to keep up
your grades and citizenship, to be a good friend, mentor and positive example, follow all LMS rules and dress code
requirements, have very good attendance and to support your Pride Group (your specific group of 6th graders) to the
best of your ability. This is a privilege that not all 7th and 8th Graders get to participate in.

You will be fully supported by the 6th grade teachers, the leadership advisors and students, and the school
administration. We are all here to help you in every way possible.

By signing below, you are telling every student (and staff member) at Lawrence Middle School that you care about
our school and that you want these new students to enjoy their first year.

If your grades, behavior or positive leadership example becomes unacceptable, you will be removed from the Pride
Program. We can only have the very best, most positive students, participate in this program.
