classroom environment and management of the aforementioned school.

Abstract

Students spend most of their time inside the school, studying and learning new things.

And classroom environment is one of the factors for the students to focus their studying.

Classroom environment defines as the variables that work as one to promote a conducive

learning environment but the problem of having a conducive learning environment is the

classroom management. Good classroom management may lead to a good classroom

environment and vice versa. Many programs are implemented to maintain a conducive learning

environment but still some of the programs are failed. The research was conducted to find out the

effects of classroom environment on the academic performance of the students.

The research used the descriptive-correlational method of the study. Set of inquiry was

adopted and was entitled as Classroom Environment as Determinant to Students’ Academic

Performance Questionnaire (CEDSAPQ). The first part was the demographic profile and the

second part is the Effective Classroom Management Strategies. It was answerable by a Likert

Scale from 1 as the strongly agree and 4 as strongly disagree.

The research had obtained that senior high school students differ significantly on

academic performance depending on techniques applied inside the room specifically verbal

instruction, instructional supervision, and delegation of authority.

Another finding is that reprimanding students using corporal punishment does not hone

the behavior of students for better and rewarding performance.

The research concludes that classroom management directly affects the classroom

environment that will result in the good academic performance of the students.
