MATHEMATICS IN THE MODERN WORLD

As a Science

- The link between mathematics and science has a long history and is now more
vital than ever. The fundamental building block, common language, and
essential supply of intellectual resources in science are mathematics. In turn,
mathematics is stimulated and inspired by science, which generates new ideas,
raises fresh issues, and ultimately shapes the values of mathematics.

As a Tool

- The use of mathematics as a tool is unaffected by the mathematical structure of

the items under consideration. Thus, the tool viewpoint is not fundamental but
rather contextual. will typically vary in how well they accomplish specific tasks
related to this task.

As an Art

- Mathematicians are always seeking new theorems and more beautiful proofs of
theorems, just as artists seek new forms for art and more beautiful expressions
of old forms. Painters come up with new schools of painting; musicians compose
in new forms. They are all seeking beauty. Scientists are always seeking better
explanations of the facts.

As a Language

- Mathematical symbols and several other alphabets are used in its vocabulary.
Just like a sentence in a spoken language, a mathematical equation can be
expressed in words to create a sentence with a noun and a verb.
