2. How do you describe the Philippine educational system especially its social studies
curriculum? Do you see any concern/issue that needs to be addressed? What
suggestion can you give to improve it?
The Philippine educational system is a K-12 curriculum were in K-6 in for Elementary
and 7-12 is for secondary. The issue was the removal of the Philippine History
subject in the secondary level. But the DepEd reiterated that history is already
included in the subjects of Araling Panlipunan. But what we need is to focus in our
own History to give more emphasis what happened in the past, who are president
their achievements and accomplishment for the benefits of our Filipino people. I
willing to bring back the History in the Grade 7 for them to boost their Pagka-
Filipino. So that they can apply and adopt the heroism and nationalism of the filipino
Students.
3. Over the years, the three core subjects – Mathematics, English and Science, are given
more attention and priority over Social Studies and other learning areas under

should it be carried out?

5. In the light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, how should social studies classes be like? What
do you think is the best approach/method/strategy to use in delivering quality and
effective instruction?
Well, in our school the best way to teach our students is by modular approach.
Most of the students do not have internet connection even if they have, they
don’t have such strong internet connection. We give to them a module that is
based on the Most Essential leaning Competencies. To reach our students we get
their contact numbers and also, we created a group chat so that if a students
have a problem or concern, they can easily approach or contact us. From their
outputs summited we can assess the students if they understand the lesson.
From those outputs and summative exams that they summited to us is bases in
giving their grades. If a student failed in the class, we will give a remedial exam
for him to understand the lesson.

6. Is there a difference between and among teaching Social Studies in the elementary
level, teaching in the secondary level, and teaching in the tertiary level? What teaching
strategies best suit learners in each of the three levels?
7. Innovation in teaching is a must in today’s era. What trends and directions in teaching
social studies/sciences should be undertaken to make teaching effective? How can this
be done?
Now a days innovation in teaching using technology is the best way in teaching
social studies. Compared before, our teacher in social studies he only asks us to
read the paragraph and explain in the class and we students, we don’t
understand well or deepen our knowledge. But now because of technology we
can innovate our lesson using different way of presentation. We can use
PowerPoint presentation in discussing the lesson. Video presentation for example
in Economics 9 in that kita, pagkunsomo at pagiimpok for them to understand
the relations of each other you need to watch a video that have a connection to
the topic and how they will apply it in their daily life. Also, we can use the MS
teams, google meet and other platform in discussing our lesson if all of the
students have internet connection. We can also use apps in giving activities or
quizzes using kahoot, test portal, google forms and other more.
