Subject: Applying for Business Visitor Visa (PLAB Visa)

Respected Sir/Madam,

I, Dr. Osama Ashfaq Virk, Visa application reference no: GWF071124350, Passport No. AJ6960101,
applying for a Business Visitor Visa to appear in the PLAB Part 2 examination, which going to be held on
31st October,2023, Manchester, United Kingdom. I had previously appeared on 16 th February 2023 in
Islamabad , Pakistan for my PLAB 1 examination and passed it on 31st March,2023.

I am a fully qualified doctor who is registered and licensed with the Pakistan Medical Commission(PMC),
Pakistan under the registration number 714943-01-M, to practice medicine.

I am also registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), UK, as a candidate to appear in PLAB 2
examination. My GMC reference number is 7819226. (Documentary evidence of this has been attached.)

WHY I AM APPLYING FOR THE UK BUSINESS VISITOR VISA FOR THE EXAM:

I am applying for a Business visitor visa to appear in the PLAB part 2 examination that I wish to take on
31st October,2023. This exam is held only in Manchester, UK. PLAB Part 2 examination is not held in any
other country. It is the second part of licensing exam for International Medical Graduates who wish to
practice medicine in the UK. I passed the PLAB part 1 examination on 16 th February,2022 in Islamabad
(only part 1 of the PLAB examination is held in other countries).

The General Medical Council has allocated the respective place for my PLAB 2 exam to their Clinical
Assessment Centre at 3 Hardman Square, Manchester, the United Kingdom on 31-10-2023. I have
also attached a confirmation from GMC for my exam detail confirmation.

All of the above shows that I’m genuinely seeking entry into the UK as a visitor, to appear in the PLAB
Part 2 examination. You may confirm my registration details with the GMC UK and my exam invitation
from the General Medical Council by calling at +44 161 923 6602 or by e-mailing them at gmc@gmc-
uk.org or plab@gmc-uk.org.

WHY I WANT TO TAKE THE PLAB EXAM:

I have completed my MBBS qualification from Pakistan and serving as a Registered Medical Officer in
Pakistan currently, now I want to work as a doctor in a better system where I can improve my skills even
more. There is no doubt in the fact that the UK healthcare system is one of the best healthcare systems in
the world. I want to make myself a better doctor by working in the UK and by learning from the doctors
in the UK.

After gaining a sufficient amount of knowledge and experience as a doctor, and after serving the UK for
a few years, I would like to come back to Pakistan which is my country of origin to help the people of my
country, like many others have done before me.

MY DOMESTIC AND FINANCIAL CONDITIONS:

My Father: Muhammad Ashfaq Virk

Occupation : Works as Deputy Manager in MIS Department in Master Textile Mills Limited in
Lahore, Pakistan.

My Mother : Fauzia Mudassar

Occupation: House-Wife

My Siblings: I am the eldest of us 4 brothers.

3. Haris Ashfaq Virk

None of the family members listed above are in any way financially dependent on me. My father rents a
house in which we live. My father has agreed to sponsor my visit to UK for my PLAB 2 examination as so
far he has provided me with financial support at every step of my education and seeks to see me work as
a registered doctor in UK.

IMMIGRATION HISTORY:

I have never traveled out from Pakistan. This is my first visit out of Pakistan with the sole purpose of
taking PLAB-2. During all my life in Pakistan I had abided by the country’s rules and regulations.
MY CURRENT RESIDENCE IN PAKISTAN:

My father Muhammad Ashfaq Virk, rents a property in which I live. My current status in Pakistan is as
'self-employed' and my place of stay is with my family, the respective address of correspondence I have
mentioned in my visa application. I stayed at this house for 14 years. I do not own any property on my
name.

Proof of my employment, N.O.C. from my employer and Leave approval certificate has been attached
to prove my legal stay in Pakistan.
FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP FOR MY VISIT TO THE UK:

My father, Muhammad Ashfaq Virk will be my financial guarantor. His related financial documents
and an Affidavit declaring his sponsorship of my visit is attached for your consideration.

Monthly income:182,351 PKR (Salary certificate has been attached along with bank
statement correspondence)

Savings bank account no: 15807900495103

Parents usually provide the financial support to their children during studies and at the start of their
career. My father have supported me throughout my medical education and is still supporting me
financially. My father (Muhammad Ashfaq Virk) will be sponsoring my trip. I’ve attached an affidavit
from him, stating his financial support to me throughout all these years and his willingness to continue
the same. My father has more than PKR 1.5 Million (~GBP 4100) in his account for my trip. I’ve also
attached my father’s bank statement and account maintenance statement as a proof of his ability to
fund my trip. My father’s Bank Statement of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) account IBAN: PK97 HABB 0015
8079 0049 5103 have also been attached.

All of these adding that my trip to UK which is solely meant for PLAB 2 won't be any burden on
him financially and he can support me throughout my trip with every expense I wish to meet within the
limits I mentioned below.

MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT DETAILS:

The account I personally hold access to is under Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Pakistan.

Account Number: 12447901730103

Type: Savings Account

The amount in my personal account is totally based upon the gift money I've received over time to time
from both my parents for various milestones I've achieved in my life so far. These include
passing examinations like my MBBS professional examinations, getting my medical license to practice in
Pakistan, passing my OET, PLAB 1 and some occasional deposits for my expenditure as well.

Rest all the influxes and out-fluxes are totally non periodical and do not show any proper source of
income. That is why I chose my father as a sponsor for my trip to UK.
MY PLAN FOR ACCOMMODATION IN THE UK:

I plan on leaving for the UK by 22 nd of October,2023. The 8 day practice period will be sufficient for me to
get acclimatized to the environment and revise my syllabus for PLAB 2 exam. After I reach the UK, I plan
on staying at Single Bedroom Hotel in 8 Fairfield Street, Manchester, for my preparations for PLAB 2 on
31st October,2023 . The booking confirmation, name of the owner, contact are attached in my document
list. I will leave UK on 5th of November, 2023.

MY EXPECTED EXPENSES IN THE UK

 Plane tickets - 600 GBP (To be purchased upon arrival of visa as visa office advises not to book
the ticket until visa is confirmed. Attachment showing approximate cost of two way flight has
been provided)
 Food - 250 GBP
 Transport - 200 GBP
 Hotel expense at Manchester - 441 GBP
 Miscellaneous - 100 GBP
 Total cost : approx 1591 GBP

In visa application I've mentioned 2000 GBP, counting the remaining money to be on the safer side.

The amount of money that my father is willing to pay for my visit is 2000GBP and my maximum expected
expense amounts are the exact same. Even after spending this amount of money provided by my
sponsor, he has sufficient amount in his account to continue his daily life expenditures and duties.

MY ITINERARY FOR THE UK TRIP:

 22nd October 2023: Land in Manchester, UK and check in at hotel from 22nd October to 5th
November 2023.
 25th October 2023 to 30th October 2023: Prepare for syllabus of PLAB 2 thoroughly and revise
with the guidance of a few colleagues and seniors.
 31st October 2023: Travel to my examination center in Manchester and appear in PLAB
2 examination.
 1st November 2023: Rest and pack my belongings.
 5th November 2023: Departure from Manchester, UK.

NOTE:
I am a fresh graduate, and I recently completed my internship at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. Since I have
very little clinical experience, I would like to come back after my PLAB part 2 examination to work as a
doctor in Pakistan to gain more clinical knowledge. This strategy will provide me with adequate
experience and maturity, making me a well-rounded doctor.

I can assure you that I am going to leave the UK at the end of my visit as I have a job here to continue. I
prefer living independently and having a self-sustained life. The only reason I'm using my father as a
sponsor is because I do not earn enough to sponsor myself for the trip.

SUMMARY OF MY VISA APPLICATION

I am a law-abiding citizen of my country and aspire to be a sincere and hardworking doctor.

I will obey all the rules and regulations of the UK legislation. I will return within the specified frame of
time. I will not overstay my visit.

I have a genuine invitation from the General Medical Council UK to appear in the PLAB Part 2
examination. I am genuinely seeking entry into the UK as a visitor.

I would be highly grateful to you if you grant me visa clearance to appear in PLAB Part 2 examination and
make a success story out of my life.

Thank you for considering my application.
