COVID-19 – Training and Resources.

When moving into a new department/area, what is the minimum training I need to
undertake in order for me to do my job safely?

Refer to the colleague role pack for guidelines of the training you must take.

There will be some mandatory department and legal training required.

It’s essential you understand how to use any equipment you might come into contact with
and be expected to use so you will need to know how to use it safely.

Ask a colleague to demonstrate how to use any equipment before you use it. The Help Centre
provides guidance if you have questions.

What areas of the store are exempt for multi-skillers/feet on the floor colleagues?

Bakery, Counters, Backdoor and deliveries and Trollies.

How is personal protective equipment being provided for multi-skillers/feet on the floor colleagues?

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will not be needed to be issued as only tasks not
requiring PPE are permitted, however, there may be occasions when cleaning tasks are
required.

Disposable PPE such as chemical mixing gloves and safety goggles will need to be worn. Always
follow the colleague cleaning cards for that department.

How do we close areas/equipment down safely due to lack of colleague resource, e.g.
upper/mezzanine floors?

Authorisation is required from Store Director/Area Manager. Once given, follow the Store
Operational Pack on the Help Centre.

Are there any provisions required for colleagues moving to night shift?

You will need permission from your manager to move and they will need to make the
necessary arrangements, including informing Wages. Depending on which department you
move into, there will be certain mandatory and legal training you need to undertake first.
