A Typical
Day at
DSC
Recess:
- Bring snacks to enjoy at recess!
- Students should eat at the picnic tables
or at the greens steps, and then should
continue playing after finishing their
snack and cleaning up.
Lunch:
- Must bring your own lunch or purchase
from the school partner EC Bento
- Students eat in their homerooms
Attendance
● School starts: 8:15 am
● Absent: Parents/Guardians should inform the school using the
DSC APP and please email myself as well
● Late students: see office for late slip
Health Related Issues
● If you are not feeling well during class, ask
your teacher to go to the Health Room.
● If you wake up before school and feel sick -
don’t come!
● Fever policy: must be fever-free for 48 hours
before coming back to school
● Do you have medication? (speak with the
Health Team

Google Classroom
● Separate classroom for each subject.
● All teachers assign homework, due dates, etc. on Google Classroom
● All assignments combined into Google Calendar
● Parents can join to receive updates
● Mobile app is available
● All students are assigned a DSC username and
password(@dsc.edu.hk) - Does everyone know their
password?
Student Expectations
● Attending school daily
● Participate in class activities to the best of their
abilities in every subject, every day
● Check Google Classroom (grade 4-6) daily
● Complete assignments on time
● Ask questions and seek assistance when
needed!
Student Assessment
Students are assessed in two different areas:
1. Subject Grades
i. Number grade 1-4 on rubrics
ii. Letter grades on Report Cards
K - Knowledge
T - Thinking
C - Communication
A - Application
2. Assessment in Learning
Skills and Work Habits
E (Excellent) G (Good) S (Satisfactory) N (Needs Improvement)
