BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2023- WEEK 2

Welcome to the glorious month of September, our Month of Harvest! Watch a rebroadcast of the
September Global Communion service on https://ceflix.org.

This month’s Bible Study is on the topic: WALKING IN LOVE. This outline has been created to
guide your Cell's Bible Study Class in the month of September. In preparing for the Bible Study class,
it’s vital that you (Cell Leaders and Bible Study Class Teachers) study this outline prior to the meeting
date to acquaint yourself with the topic and content. All the Scriptures given in the outline are to be
read out during the meeting. It’s important that the class participants look into their Bibles while the
Scriptures are read for proper assimilation. You may also assign some of the participants to read some
of the Scriptures during the study. To be sure the participants have their Bibles, kindly inform them
before the meeting date to come along with it. As a strategic and proactive Bible Study Class Teacher,
ensure you make provision for first timers that will be in attendance, who may not have their Bibles
with them; or you may direct them to download the Rhapsody of Realities Study Bible app from the
Loveworld App Store at www.lwappstore.com. In addition, don’t rush through the subject as you teach;
remember that our intention is to have every member of the class understand the subject matter and
what the Bible teaches on it. At different points of the class, request feedback from the participants to
ensure they are following and understanding the subject being taught. Please note that all Scripture
references are in the King James Version (KJV) unless otherwise stated. Finally, ensure you
communicate the class activity or actions to be taken before the next class and monitor to ensure every
member of the cell is participating in these activities.
INTRODUCTION

The term ‘love’ is defined in several ways by different cultures. The Bible talks about different kinds of
love, the God kind of love (called Agape in Greek), the love between friends, brothers, siblings and
married couples. The highest form of love however is the God kind of love. This is the Love that
compelled the Father to give His only begotten Son to die for the sins of the world.

John 3:16 , “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

John 15:13 , “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends.”

Agape is higher and stronger than all the other kinds of love. This is the Love that drove the Lord
Jesus as He suffered the shame and pain of the cross, that we might be justified from our sins and
come into oneness with the Father. This love has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit
(Romans 5:5). Now, we can walk in and manifest the God kind of love.

One major difference between God’s love and the other kinds is that God’s love is self giving; it
sacrifices itself irrespective of the other persons status and it is unconditional. However the other
kinds of love are based on sharing what one has with others.

For the purpose of this class, we will be focusing on the God kind of love.

What is Love?

 Love is that endearing value of a person that gives you a sense of his or her importance to you.
Therefore Love means I am valuable to God, and this is not a passive value. Love means God
values me and wants me, I am important to Him. If that is true, my life therefore must have a
meaning, I am not here for nothing! This was the mindset David had. (Read Psalm 23). David
was convinced that God loved Him, therefore He would take care of him, nurture him and protect
him all his days. Note that he didn’t have this mindset because He was a king, but this was his
mindset right from when he was a shepherd boy, taking care of his father’s sheep.

 Love is the expression of God’s nature. It is who He is. It is the righteousness of God at work. God
is Love, and Love is of God. The summation of God’s character is Love. No man can know or have
this Love until and unless they know God. 1John 4:16- Whosoever shall confess that
Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known
and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love
dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Read also 1 John 4: 7-21

 Love is the manifestation of God’s Truth. You can’t walk in love without manifesting God’s Truth.
Read 2John:2-6; 3John:3-6

The attributes of the God kind of love

Let’s look at the 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8( Amplified Classic)

1. Love endures long and is patient and kind

2. Love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy.

3. Love is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

4. Love is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride).

5. Love is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.

6. Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking.

7. Love is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no
attention to a suffered wrong].

8. Love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

9. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes,

10. Love is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fade-less under all
circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

11. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].

Our Love nature

Recall that the Bible says that the Love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy
Spirit( Romans 5:5), that means you have the capacity to love like God does. You might be thinking,
‘ but I am not a very patient person, sometimes I boil over with anger, I can’t stand somethings some
people do, they are just very annoying so I won’t talk with them; I am easily touchy, getting upset at
the slightest provocation.’ What do you do? No, you don’t have to pray, ‘Oh God, make me a loving
person, give me your attributes of love.’ That will be praying the wrong way because He has put His
love in you already. What you are to do is to declare who you already are. You can say, ‘from now on, I
refuse to be easily upset, I am full of God’s love, I manifest His love, I tolerate everyone, I don’t notice
wrongs done to me. I am a love-child of a love-God.’

The new creature in Christ is born anew after the image of God (Colossians 3:10) and is imbued with
the divine ability to express divine love. It’s his nature to love everyone, just like God. This means, the
Christian does not have the capacity to hate anyone. That is who you are! Affirm this today and
everyday.

WALKING IN LOVE

Walking in love means walking God, in the principles of Christ. It is walking in the consciousness of
eternal life. It also means walking in the light of God’s love for you.

Ephesians 5:1-2- Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as
well-beloved children [imitate their father]. And walk in love, [esteeming and
delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a [a]slain
offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.

We are admonished to copy God and love like He does, and we can, because we have the nature of God
in us. God’s love goes beyond cultural divides, religious barriers, ethnic differences, and social
stratification.

Our love-walk is the primary proof that Christ dwells in us. Jesus said, “By this shall all men
know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35). What a way
to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the world! Also your maturity as a Christian is revealed in
your Love walk. You haven’t matured in Christ until you’re truly walking in love, and you will not walk
in love until you understand and live in the righteousness of God. Colossians 3:14 "But above all
these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection." [Read also: 1 John 4:7-8 (NIV,
KJV); 1 Corinthians 13:1-3; Ephesians 3:17-19]

Walk in the consciousness of God’s love for you. Remember He loved you when you were yet dead in
sins (Ephesians 2:4-6). Imagine how much more now that you are in Him! Every so often say to
yourself- God loves me! God loves me so much! When you walk in the light of this, you will not be
afraid because perfect love casts out fear. You will be bold in the day of judgment. This is not referring
to the judgement that follows after the rapture, but several judgments that happen while we are here
on earth. Eg- destruction happening in an area where you live. When those judgments come, you are
confident that you are united with Him in love, so you are shielded.

1 John 4:17-18: Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day
of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but
perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made
perfect in love.

CONCLUSION

Love makes us value people irrespective of cultural, social or other differences, and this is the value
God placed on mankind that made Him send His only begotten son to die for the sins of the world.
This love has been shed abroad in our hearts and we can and should manifest it to our world. In the
next class, we would learn more about how to walk in love, and also the dimensions of love.

EXCERPT FROM THE WORD OF THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER

Luke 10:2-Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers
are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers
into his harvest.

John 4:34-36- Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and
to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest?
behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white
already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life
eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Three important instructions for the month:

1. Win souls everywhere

2. Set up cells everywhere

3. Give for the furtherance of the kingdom.

CLASS ASSIGNMENT

Get involved in the soul winning activities scheduled in your cell for this month and plan to bring at
least one new person to Church and this week, and the next cell meeting. The bIble study class teacher
should announce the plans for soul winning in the cell this month.

The Christ Embassy Soul Tracker application is a tool that helps you manage your soul winning
activities, helping you ensure that those you win are following the various discipleship structures we
have in the ministry. The Bible study class teacher should guide the members in creating their
accounts on www.christembassysoultracker.org or download the mobile app from
www.lwappstore.com.
