Performance of the computer system
Features
The performance computer that has been choose are Intel core i7-8700 processor. It has 16GB
DDR4 RAM and 256GB SDD + 1TB HDD. The performance is standard for the system that are
being used. The computer chosen are Dell XPS 8930 while, the graphic card is used NVIDIA
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5. The computer should need to have a good CPU and a good
RAM because the HR Department will use more documentations so the computer should be last
longer for the future. The performance of the computer is the amount of work that is
accomplished by computer system. It means that how well the computer is doing the work. So
basically, it depends on the response time throughput and also execution time of the computer.
When clicking the applications, the performance for the configured computer system ID are to
optimize standards for the user’s needs. Basically, all the drivers need to up to date and errors is
not found. While, all the peripherals devices that the user needs are to connect it properly. There
is no freeze when the process of using computer it means that the CPU is used for the system is
fine on what the users’ needs for the computer. While, the computer system it is safe when put
all the important documentations on it as there is no virus is found. Thus, the computer also has a
minimal number of fragmented files in the drive so that the computer can open quickly for the

versions then there is no out of date.

They are many common problems it has such as file are gone, frozen and internet cannot
connect.
Files are gone:
Some files might be missing in the storage devices if it become damaged, it will be infected to
the malware likely hidden or automatically has been removed a program without any user
permission. The files have disappeared and has not moved are likely to recovered again with a
form of recovering software. The software scans for hard drive and looks for the files that are no
longer record on the file allocation table. The storage devices data can track where the files start
and when the files end. The reason why files missing is because of viruses.
Frozen:
It is a term of describe the state where the computer that appears to have stop working and there
is no on the screen moves. When it occurs, usually the solution is only rebooting the computer.
The computer can freeze due to multiple reasons such as hardware or software conflicts,
software errors failure, computer overheating.

Basically, it has to restart the computer when the internet cannot connect. While, might be the

hardware. When replacing a new one, it’s good to check the correct hardware for the

RAM has many such as DDR2 and also DDR3. The new technologies are offering the faster
performance but most of the motherboard is accepting only one type of RAM. It is important to
check type of RAM modules that is needed and how to install it. How much RAM is need for the
system is depends on the intend to do with it or whether need to upgrade the memory post-
purchase. The last point is very important because many of high-end laptops have eliminated
user-upgrade RAM in order to reduce system thickness by roughly six nanometers. Adding

additional RAM is useful because it generates increase power consumption by measurable if

small amount. But it not will be the issues for most of the users. It is good to have a bit to have
much RAM than too little as whatever it gains in power savings it will lose to increased disk.
The RAM boost the performance it only depends on other system components, workload and
whether or not using integrated graphics. When upgrading the RAM, it is possible to have
another 4GB RAM.
Upgrading Hard Disk Drive
The hard drive is the primary storage device that is provides storage spaces for files. If is low on
the storage space and if needed to increase the size of hard drive, there are several options that is
available. It is the best option to upgrade and existing the hard disk drive in the computer.
Basically, upgrading the new hard disk drive is not possible without purchasing a hard drive
duplicator. The hard disk drive it cannot have any additional space to added into it. It is
impossible to make upgrade in existing hard disk drive. Thus, installing additional hard drive are
the only options to adding more storage space in the computer. When replacing a new hard disk
drive, it is needed to purchase a new one that has more space. To be safety, it needs to check the
total storage space of the existing hard disk drive first before purchasing a new one and it needs
to check either existing hard drive uses the SATA or IDE. Secondly, it needs to backup files and
need to copy into the new hard disk drive. Thirdly is it needs to remove the existing hard drive
by taking out the screws and need to disconnecting all the cables.
Check the CPU if the CPU is low grade- upgrade the CPU
Sometimes it is slowing down the computer and it cause some of the programs cannot run
smoothly and probably it process stop quite often. What important things to do are, check the
CPU that is consume in the computer and it needs to figure out either it occupies too much CPU

responsible into the part of computer in speed. When upgrading the CPU, it is very hard

to check the temperature of the CPU fans. It needs to restart the computer and enter BIOS by

The power supply is very important in the computer system. When we checking the power
supply, we need to know the safety regulations. The power supply is often forgotten when it
comes to diagnosing the computer problems. But when it comes to testing power supply, firstly it
can save a lot of troubleshooting down to the road. While when checking the power supply first
thing first the computer needs to shut down first, secondly open the computer case and make sure
disconnect all the power supply cables inside the case. To upgrade a new power supply is

well. One is more effective is using the disk cleanup tools
which it clears all the unwanted files. The unnecessary items
might be eating the storage space of the computer and
preventing the computer from performing at its best. The
disk cleans up also the intelligent capability to clear up the
registries and the detect virus infected or the redundant files.
Each of the file location has the corresponding checkbox that
needs to choose or selected to delete the file that is no longer
needed. Upon the highlighting or selecting the certain files,

of windows so that it knows exactly which files that are
removing. The disk cleans up it completes it need to restart the systems to remove the

the network and making the files to search faster. But, due to the storage space being expensive
that has been use in the network, not removing the files that is unwanted files will be wasted of
organization resources. The benefits of disk clean up is save time and increase efficiency the
traditional way to open the files and finding the old files to delete might be suffice for some of it
but not for those that is prioritize productivity. Although the files can be deleted in manually, it
doesn’t know how because the disk cleans up is faster. Secondly is, make the computer more
reliable which it is the programs that are automatically download through the internet and it is
often virus infected but then infecting other files too. The disk cleanup tool can clean the
programs and the virus infected files which decrease the computer reliability. Lastly is maximize
the drive memory which is the ultimate benefits advantage on cleaning the disk is the
maximization of the computer space, increase the speed, and the improvement of functionality.
When cleaning the disk drive, the computer can perform in higher speed that can be able to use
the device to run at peak performance levels. Thus, the disk cleans up tools is needed to operate
as any basic program so that there is no hassle when installing the new software and tools to

can improve the productivity.
Backup and restore files
Which it is the organizations will be doing a backup
files within the network to the offsite locations. These
systems will take the physical copies or move it to the
offsite locations or another is they will take the virtual
image of the network files. This file will be update
when the failure. The reason that the organizations
will take the copies file and the resources will be used
to restore the event of the system failure. But, if the
network become corrupted, had been stolen or lost the copies file will be give back into the
networks so that the organizations can carry own their own business. That is when an attack on
the network is there, it will don’t have the backed-up files to offsite locations which means that it
can be costly and dangerous to the organizations if the information is lost immediately due to the
not having a backup system. It will come a time when the database backups will not be fast as
like before. But, in over time the all of data that is storing will be increasing and the backup will
take times. The weekly and daily maintenance windows will not increase. To make the backup
go faster. Therefore, the purpose of backup is to create the copy of the data that can be recovered
incase the data is failure. The primary data can be result of the hardware, software failure, data
corruption or human caused event such as virus or malware or accidentally delete the data. The
backup copies it can allow the data to be stored from the earlier point in time to help the business
recover from unplanned event. When storing the copy data on separate to protect primary data
loss or corruption because it is important. The additional medium can be simple as the external
drive or USB stick or something is bigger such as disk storage system. The media alternate
medium can be in the same location as a primary data or a remote location. It might be the
weather-related events may justify having copies of the data. To have a good result, the backup
copies are made on consistent in regular basis to minimize the amount of data that has been lost
between backups. The more time passes between the backup copies, the more potential for the
data loss when it recovering from backup. To maintain the multiple copies of data it provides the
insurances flexibility to restore to a point in time and not affected to the data corruption or
malicious attacks.

Usually in disk defragmentation, it improves the systems performance. Which is when the
computer saves files, it fragments the files into pieces and it saves the pieces of in the locations
in hard drive. The windows take time to access the files because it only requires additional disk
drive reads to find the pieces. The fragmentation is occurred because of the files on the drive are
being modified, deleted, and grown in a random order. While, the defragmentation is much
related in the file systems on the electromechanical disk drives, and the process is picking up all
the pieces of data that is spread across the partition that is called volume and then putting pieces
together. While the improvements of disk defragmentation are it decrease the data access time
largely which is speed up the computers. All the files are need to save on the hard disk that is
referring to the mechanical hard disk it is accessed via the magnetic head. If the files consist of
multiple fragments, then the hard disk will do much extra work. In specification, when accessing
a file which it saved in two different locations, then the head need to move here and there so that
it read all the fragments of the file, thus it increasing the seek time. however, after defragment
the hard drive all the pieces of the file will be gather to one extent so that the head only needs to
work in one extent. In naturally, computer would run much quickly it is because seek time are
reduced. In addition, the defragmentation also helps the most when it comes to start up times.
Therefore, speed up computer is the biggest improvements that is carry out by defragmentation.
Secondly the improvements of disk defragmentation are expanded hard disk service time to large
extent, which the head of magnetic it should be move here and there to read the fragmented data.
It means that if there is data slew of fragmented data that is save on volume or partitions, the
heads need to do more movements. With reading and writing the data frequently, the hard disk
will be damaged after a long time. It means that, the service time can be reduced. Thus, when
doing defragment on the hard drive volume at this time, the read-write operation will be reduced
because all the fragmented files will be arranged and reunited back. Then the hard disk time can
be increased.

is protection from the virus, spyware, malware and other online cyber threats. When scan the
virus, it is important for the routine performance tasks because it is scanning the useless files that
is detect with the virus. With the increase use of the computer system, there are many threats that
has been found which it also increasing along with the resulting in risk of data security for the
individual and organizations. The data is the most important components of every organizations
and there is no one would want to risk the confidential data to the viruses that is approaching the
computer system. The antivirus is important and recommend for every computer system, it is to
keep that it secure from unknown threats that approaching to the computer system from the
internet, external drives and keeps the personal information the data secured. When it comes to
protection viruses and software the antivirus has the primary job to detecting the sought of
viruses, spyware, malware and other unknown threats that is entering the computer system and
also removing the same before it can do any harm into the data present in a computer system.
Secondly protection from phishing attacks, the phishing is termed as an authorized that is attempt
by the third person or the hacker that has access the data present in nowadays with stealing the
same or infect data so that it cannot be use by the user.
Software update
When it comes to the update software, it is important for the computer system. The software
update which it is called software patch it is a free download application, operating system, that
is provide fixes for the features that is not working or it adds minor software and compatibility.
The software update is release to address the security issues when it is happening, it is to address
the minor bugs discovered in the software which it is to improves the operation of hardware or
the peripherals and to add the support model for the new equipment. These small and updates

update. It is issued to protect the computer system against the vulnerabilities that might be
exploited by the hackers and viruses. It is important to install security updates when they need to
ensure the system has been protected as possible against constantly changing threats. The

need to be updated. Most of the case, for example unless choosing the setting that is allow
automatic updates, the devices will give a notification and mention when the software is
available and give some information on why updates is important for the computer system.
Clean up DUST inside the system Unit
It is important to clean up the dust inside the system unit because if the PC is dirty, it can make
the PC to be breakdown easily. The computer is needing a good cleaning every once to prevent
one and a while to prevent from the dust build up and also overheating. Cleaning PC is easier it
only takes about a minute to clean up. When starting to clean up, it is important to know about
the safety issues first, to ensure that the person is not in dangerous situations. When cleaning, it
can give a lot of benefits which it can impact in personal health and also work environment. The
computer cleaning is important to promote the health environment and to protect the PC from
malfunctioning. The benefits are when it cooling the fans it shows that it reducing heat of the PC,
thus, the dust it blocks the fans from rotating the hardware in parts of the system and it won’t get
cool air and hot air that can’t go out the environment. Due to the overheating may cause damage
on the hardware parts. To reduce the overheat, then the fans may rotate faster it shows that the
energy will be lost.
