ASSIGNMENT

1) A bus was three stops away from the bus terminal. At the
first bus stop, 5 passengers got on and 3 passengers got off.
At the second bus stop, 4 passengers got on and 8
passengers got off. At the third bus stop, 2 passengers got
on and 12 passengers got off. When the bus arrived at the
terminal, all 75 passengers got off. How many passengers
were on the bus just before it arrived at the first bus stop?
ASSIGNMENT
2) Juan, Jeanne, Jana, and Jhonny are neighbors of different
occupations – artist, chef, scientist or paralegal, but not
necessarily in order. Determine the occupation of each from
the following clues:
i. Jeanne gets home from work after the chef but before the
paralegal.
ii. Jhonny is the last one to go home from work and is not the
scientist.
iii. Jhonny and the paralegal leave for work at the same time.
iv.The chef lives next door to Jeanne.
ASSIGNMENT
3) Juan, a part-time college student, worked a total of 19
hours last week. Part of the time he worked in a local market
and part of the time he worked as math tutor. He was paid
Php 220.00 per hour in the local market and Php 150.00 per
hour tutoring. If he earned Php 3,690.00 last week, how many
hours did he work at each job?
