An effective leader of a team has a variety of traits and characteristics that encourage team members to

follow him or her. Team leaders naturally possess certain qualities, such as compassion and integrity, or
learn leadership skills through formal training and experience. Being an effective leader can instill
confidence in the team as well as contribute to the growth of the department through improved team
productivity.

Officers play an important role in every school. Student organization officials are liable for their own
behavior as well as the behavior of other student organizations and members. They are in charge of all
facets of student organization leadership. Leaders are the individuals that others will look up to, listen to,
and use as examples to be a good students. In general, the role of a leader is to coach, guide, and inspire
others.
