Part I : Essay (30%)

Healthcare sector consists of businesses that provide medical services, manufacture

medical equipment or drugs, provide medical insurance, or otherwise facilitate the provision of
healthcare to patients. Being an established company and healthcare equipment manufacturer in
Malaysia is a competitive market in covering the sales and economical market of the industry.
Every year the company’s largest income is from the successful tender bid and continuous
support from the won tender.

A tender is a document that you need to complete when bidding for a contract; the tender
document is how a buyer evaluates your suitability for the contract based typically on price and
quality elements. The tender process steps generally include the call for submissions, the bid
submission, the selection process, and the formation of the contract. Once these steps are all
complete, the contractor starts the project and sees it through completion. The process starts with
first with the request for proposals. next, the product owners or project teams first need to issue a
request for proposal (rfp) or invitation to bid (itb) to initiate the bidding process, followed by, bid
preparation of interested parties, then, the bid evaluation and selection, finally the contract
negotiation and awarding. When an organisation requires certain goods or services, they’ll likely
rely on a supplier. They will send out a contract to deliver these goods/services, and suitable
suppliers can bid. The best suited supplier will be awarded the contract to carry out the work.

Own Personal Problem: Obesity

Obesity is a globally emerging problem or health issue which is uncontrolled and

alarming for the people. According to the research performed by the World Health Organization
(WHO), almost fifty percent (50%) of human population are overweight and obese. of This
report is prepared based on the current personal problem which require immediate solution to
overcome the problem. The objective of this report is to determine the personal problem, causes
and to strategize a solution to overcome the problem. This also to understand the problem and to
prevent the issue with a long-term solution. The term of eating disorder is mostly about food and
food intake. The common cause is the mental condition which require self-discipline and
motivation. Eating disorder is a mental health on the obsession with food and the effect on the
body shape. Among the eating disorders which are available is binge eating, bulimia, anorexia
nervosa, pica, obesity, and other eating disorders. The topic of selection is a type of personal
problem which is currently faced by me is the eating disorder causing to obesity. Obesity is
current problem which require a solution to solve my current health issue. Being obese is
affecting my work and daily activities. This problem is faced by me after my school period and
the eating pattern has changed over the years. The solution to overcome the obese condition and
to change the body shape is important to enhance the opportunity at work area as a productive
employee and at the same to build a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Obesity rates are increasing
in most countries throughout the world. The reasons for the increase are complex and involve
biological, behavioural, and environmental factors. We have unintentionally created
environments that encourage over-eating and discourage physical activity. (Hill J.O,2008). There
are many articles and research are concluding that obesity is a unbalanced pattern of eating and
could lead to disease and health issues. Obesity is not just a health risk but a disease, (Jung R. T.
1997). My current issue is faced at the age of 17 till now. From my observation, the obese
physical is associated with genetic, food diet and mental state. My family genetically is in obese
figure from the first to current generations. Probably in conjunction with the genetic figure
shape, the eating pattern is also affected, and the diet intake is in accordance with the body
shape. The high intake of carbohydrate, sugar and protein in daily diet is the one of factors

6
causing obesity. The type of food and cooking method by each race is also a factor for the high
food intake.
