INTRODUCTION

An online application aims at providing number of patients to get an appointment to their


respective doctors at an ease reducing the efforts of traditional manual system .This proposed
application helps the patient to choose the doctor,their free schedules and time slots to make an
appointment .
The project automates the details of the various doctors as well as their schedules,
subjected to patients who are registered to respected doctor and helps in getting the appointment
online.

Computers are finding their way into every business, industry and
research activity today. The use of computers is diverse such as
entertainment, education, problem solving, research, personal
management, etc. In hospitals, the process of maintaining the record of
patients and employees working in the hospital, calculating bills, etc.,
requires processing and record keeping in different departments. Keeping
in view a strong need for managing the above information fast and
efficiently, Online Hospital MIS has been designed and developed. It is
user friendly and provides simple and efficient way for managing the
working of hospitals.

1.1 Objective
The project automates the details of the various doctors as well as their schedules, subjected to
patients who are registered to respected doctor and helps in getting the appointment online.

1.2 Scope

Scope is the sum of deliverables and services to be provided in the project. The project is
developed to help the Patient to keep updated their time for the appointment of Doctors .In a very
accurate and systematic manner. It makes sure that all the information relating to each and every
part of the input from user is up- to- date and accurate. It also provides Patient can save the time
to getting the appointments of the Doctors.

2.Literature Survey

2.1 EXISTING SYSTEM

In the present system, the patient to take the appointment should make a call to the
hospital or he has to personally visit the hospital.The patient report is basically stored as a file
using papers, so if there is a loss of the file or any information's the patient must go for the
process again

 The new patients have to visit the hospital to know about the
hospitality and the service.
 The hospital now is practicing the usual method of token for
the appointments of the patients.
 The patients need to visit the hospital to know the presence of
their concerned doctors.
 Patient need to wait in queue till he/she gets his/her turn for
the check-up as they will not be aware of their turn.

Problems in existing system :


 The main problem with manual system is time consumption
and possibilities of errors.
 Entire work is in the form Paper-document. So stationery and
printing cost is more.
 Document storage cost is more.
 There may be chances of loss of documents.

2.2 PROPOSED SYSTEM

1)Helps a doctor to maintain the database regarding his patients and his schedules.
2) User friendly interface, easy to understand and implement.
3) Saving time of patients as well as doctors.
4) Reduce paper work and ensures error free secured data entry.

 Patients need not visit the hospital physically to know about


the hospitality and service and just know it by visiting the
website.
 Appointments can be given online to patients.
 The patients need not visit the hospital to know the presence
of their concerned doctors as they will know the list of
doctors available on that day on the website.
Patient need not wait in queue till he/she gets his/her turn for the check
up as they will be aware of their turn and the approximate time to visit
hospital.
