INTRODUCTION

Human daily activities have progressively become more integrated with technology. There is no denying
that technology helped to develop our community to improve our standard of living. Technology such as
computers is designed to increase our daily productivity, especially in business sectors. In health, mostly
in hospitals, computers ease the work of our medical and hospital staff by taking the advantage of using
a system that can manage and track their patients in a computerized way.

The patient tracker system is used for managing patients’ information and medical data. It records the
data needed by the doctors that can be used to analyze the patients’ medical needs. Additionally, the
patient tracker system is used by doctors to easily log and monitor the progress of the patient that can
be used for documenting their health status. The manual method of tracking systems can be exhausting
and takes time to retrieve a document which slows the work of our health care provider. It can also
provide a lot of errors and invalid reports that can affect the progress of the organization. The use of a
patient tracker system can provide a seamless process that is helpful not only for the organization but
also for the patients, especially for those pregnant women.

While technology is rapidly advancing, the demand for high-tech equipment is mostly needed for every
business and government organization. At this point, some Barangay Health Centers are still using the
traditional way of processing information such as collecting and storing data and tracking patients. Most
of the residents of the Barangays are consulting from health centers for check-ups, especially children
and pregnant women who have high records of coming in and out of the health center that can affect
the works of our medical front liners in our health centers, mainly handling and processing the data of
their patients.

In this study, the proponents aim to develop a swift, accurate, and reliable system for the health centers
that can speed up the process and mostly monitor and track the patients. The system can organize,
handle and store a wide range of data that is collected from the patients.  The system can also generate
data reports for future references.

The proposed system comprises necessary features such as login/logout features, administrator’s
module, patient modules, and help assistant.

PROJECT CONTEXT
Recodo Health Center’s current method is the manual processing, recording, and tracking system. While
most parts of government organizations are digitally equipped, barangay health centers are left behind.

Processing information needed by the staff of health centers consumes a lot of time during checkup
events of pregnant women. In this period, the staff will interview the patient and record the data
manually. The staff writes down all the information from the patient in a record book.

This kind of process deliberately slows the progress of any events or transactions of our health centers
because the staff takes time to search and locate the records of the patients. Therefore, delays and
disruption cannot be prevented.

On this ground, the researchers call into action and decided to design and develop an android patient
tracking system. It will help the health centers to easily record and retrieve all data and information
from the patients. The system is a stepping stone for our health center to enhance their transaction as it
is reliable. This will be a big benefit to them especially since they don’t have a lot of staff to
accommodate a great number of patients.

PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION


The purpose of this project is to build an android application system that records and store the data of
the patients from our Recodo Health Center. The system can help our health centers to monitor and
track their patients using their android devices in any necessary means. In addition, the proposed
system will replace the manual process, and it will fasten the work of our health center staff.
The proposed system will have the features of login/login, admin modules, database maintenance, and
help assistant.

LOGIN/LOGOUT, this allows the authorization of our admin to access the system and enter the
administration modules and patient modules.

ADMINISTRATION MODULES, it will allow the admin to decide what task to do.

PATIENT MODULES, this will allow the admin to view, locate and edit the information of the recorded
data of the patient.

HELP ASSISTANT, hold the instruction of how to use the system.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


The main objective of this project is to develop an android patient tracker system that can help lessen
the work of the Recodo Health Center.

Specific Objectives:
1. To record and save information of the patient in a digital way.
2. To track patients using an android device.
3. To provide quality service and fast transactions.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS


The study will focus only on creating an android patient tracker system that prioritizes the patient within
Recodo Health Center. The system will focus on a user-friendly and innovative design of an android
application that can record, save information, and generate reports.
