1. Which of the following barriers to physical activity is preventing you from including
physical activity in your daily life and why? (What is your top category or the category with
a score of > 5)
The following barrier that prevents me is my Lack of Willpower, I get easily distracted
by other things especially when I try to engage in physical activity, I tend to get lazy and
just end up playing games, sleeping, or eating food. This has been a problem for me for
the past few years after I injured myself in playing basketball. It made me look for other
reasons why I should not engage in physical activity and when I do try I end up getting
distracted.
2. Provide at least three (3) strategies in which you can overcome such barriers.
My first strategy is to change my way of thinking, Having a positive mindset can go a
long way especially when it comes to overcoming a lack of willpower. Next, I have to set
reachable and doable goals so I would not end up giving up or losing focus because of
an unreachable goal. Lastly, Block all the negativity coming from your mind and coming
from others around you.
