Newsletter of The Parish of St.

Mark the Evangelist

Hood River, Oregon ~~~ September 2023

A BIG thank you to all who were involved in this project: getting clothes from schools,
laundering, setting up/sorting, working Friday/Saturday, taking down, cleaning up. It was a
group effort. The setting up/sorting took less than two partial days, despite a small glitch in
the beginning. We learned last year to put all the hoodies in the nursery and that certainly
helped speed up the process. By noon on Saturday the majority of clothes were on their way
to new homes. By 12:30 all leftovers were packed in 21 tubs and Cathy and her vacuum
were at work.

The weather co-operated and was much more comfortable on Friday. The city road
department also helped by allowing two-way traffic
through the area.

When they left with bundles of clothes, the people all

expressed their gratitude for what we had done.

• What gets in the way of your faith growing?
• How do we know God's love?
• What about the church?
• How can Buddhist practice support Christian faith?
