Part 1. Short answers (finish writing the sentences).
(1) Morocco is known for ‘sfenj’, which is a popular donut style treat. It is eaten plain or
soaked in honey.
(2) Throughout the Mediterranean and Middle East, ‘shakshuka’ is a dish made of eggs
poached, baked, or scrambled, in a savory tomato-based sauce.
(3) A full English breakfast, also called ‘a fry-up’, features a sunny side up fried egg,
sausage, fried bread, bacon beans, and tomatoes, paired with a side of hot tea.
(4) A traditional Japanese breakfast consists of miso soup, fish, and steamed rice, usually
served with egg.
(5) The Filipino breakfast dish called ‘tapsilog’ includes thin slices of beef tapa that are
served with a fried egg and garlic fried rice. The beef is often marinated in soy sauce,
calamansi juice, vinegar sugar and garlic.
(6) Breakfast in the USA is known for a few regular go-to’s, such eggs, bacon, sausage,
and starchy sides like toast or pancakes.

Part 3. The grammatical structure is the passive voice. The passive voice is used because it’s not
necessary to indicate the subject of the action. It’s understood from context that the subject of
the action is “people”.
