PARENT MANUAL

Dear parents,
To help us achieve our mission and vision as a school, we have set out some policies and
procedures that will govern all our activities at Alif Preparatory School. The policies and
procedures affect all stakeholders of the school which include parents, students, staff members,
volunteers, and contractors.
We hope to bring to your notice the set of policies and procedures concerning your roles as
parents. We implore you to kindly go through this abridged document and adopt its principles
going forward.
Parents’ supports and guide for school policies play an integral role in shaping our children’s
future and the world they will inherit.
We firmly believe that a solid relationship between home and the school is very crucial to
creating lasting impact in the lives of our students.

Jazakumullohu Khoyron.

SCHOOL COMPLAINTS POLICIES

ALIF Preparatory School’s Parent Manual Page 2 of 8

 Parents complaints and concerns are directed to the line managers through the Admin’s
office to avoid interruption which could hinder the discharge of the duties assigned to
teachers by the school. We do not refrain parents from lodging complaints.

 It should be noted that doorstep interviews with teachers are not acceptable as that would
hinder the discharge of the primary obligations of teacher – which is to the classroom.
 The school does not frown at having the teacher present in a meeting with parents.
 Parents are not allowed to act aggressively, abusively, or in threatening manner on the
school site. This is posing risks to the school community- pupils, parents, staff members,
and neighbors. Parents can raise concerns at the earliest stage to avoid them developing
into complex issues for such information to be treated seriously with an urgent attention.

USAGE OF MOBILE PHONES WITHIN THE SCHOOL PREMISES

We recognize that it would be impossible to place a rigid restriction on the use of mobile phones by
parents as it is an essential means of communication at all times. We thereby ask that parents’ usage of
mobile phones within the school premises is courteous and appropriate to the school environment.

When there are ongoing events in the school, parents are allowed to take photograph or video
recordings. However, we insist that parents do not publish images (on social networking sites) that
include any children other than their own.

Parents will be reminded at the start of every school event and in the periodic newsletters. To educate
our children in a safe and friendly environment is a shared responsibility.

UNIFORM POLICY UPDATE.

Please note that our uniform policy henceforth will be subject to the economy stability . Going by the
challenges highlighted on the platform and after much consultation with the school community, the
school hereby appeals to everyone of the changes in uniform plan for timely uniform distribution.

All uniforms will now be produced during long vacation and distributed at once for the children at the
beginning of every session . This will enable us design a DRESS CODE that allow for flexibility incase we
want to go for alternative quality due to high costs.

Each child will be registered for a plan to enable us produce all uniform at once . The most agreed plan
for a change of uniform will be adopted henceforth to reduce these challenges the school has been
facing to enable us focus more on other productive activities in the school. KINDLY HELP FILL THE SLIP
BELOW, DETATCH IT AND THE CHILD BRINGS BACK TO SCHOOL :

Thank you.

EARLY DISMISSAL POLICY – INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

We understand that on occasion parents require their children to be dismissed from school early.
Allowing early dismissals causes major disruptions for the entire class, teacher and your child’s
education. Therefore, strict guidelines must be adhered to, Alif School’s guidelines for early dismissal to
ensure the safety and minimal disruption to our students’ education are stated as follows:

ALIF Preparatory School’s Parent Manual Page 7 of 8

 Early dismissals will only be permitted for students with professional medical appointments and
family emergencies. If a child is sick and the parent is called to collect that child, their siblings or
other family members will not be permitted to be dismissed. Under no circumstances will a
student be permitted to leave school during the school hours, during recess or lunchtime.
Students will not be dismissed early for any family convenience.
 We do understand that occasionally there are instances where early dismissal is required. A
prior request via call to the Admin must have been done by the parents of the students not less
than 4hours before such dismissal, with the reason requesting early dismissal from the School.
 This notice must be handed to the School Admin prior to the commencement of class. If we
have received notice then your child will be waiting for you in the Admin Officer’s
Office/Reception,
 If the school has not received prior notice, your request WILL BE denied. This process will ensure
minimum disruption to the class.
 Absence from school is only allowable under the following circumstances:
o Illness, or unavoidable causes.

We would appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Signed
