Good morning,welcome to the debate. my name
is….And for the topic “ Many people think that the
money would have been better spent on helping
those in genuine need”. In my opinion I agree with
that. Here are some reasons I agree:
1. People should spend their money on helping those in
need rather than indulging in lavish weddings or other
displays of wealth. This is because:
2. Many people around the world are living in poverty,
struggling to meet their basic needs such as food,
shelter, and healthcare. By donating to charities or
directly helping those in need, individuals can make a
meaningful difference in the lives of others.
3. Spending money excessively on luxuries is not only
wasteful but also sends a negative message about
society's values. It can create resentment towards the
wealthy and undermines efforts to achieve greater
social and economic equality.
4. In times of crisis, such as the ongoing COVID-19
pandemic or conflicts like the Russian invasion of
Ukraine, it is even more important to prioritize
spending on necessities rather than extravagances.
5.We can use that money to help the poor, homeless to
reduce the burden on society

with hunger, including more than 12 million children.
In 2014, the number of homeless children reached a
record high of 2.5 million, or 1 out of every 30 children
in the United States each year.
•Poverty and homelessness is a burning problem that
every country in the world is facing today. This is a
huge burden on countries. So if we can use money for
good purpose and help others. It will help the country
and the poor can somehow live more stable.

For the topic , in my point of view, I disagree with this
opinion.
- Personal freedom: People should have the freedom to
spend their money however they choose, as long as
they are not breaking any laws. It is their money, and
they have the right to enjoy it as they see fit.
- Economic stimulation: Spending money on luxury
items or experiences can stimulate the economy by
creating jobs and increasing demand for goods and
services. This can ultimately benefit society as a whole.
-Celebrating life events such as weddings or milestone
birthdays is a traditional way of marking significant
moments in one's life. These experiences create lasting
memories and bring joy to those involved.
- Quality of life: Spending money on experiences or
items that bring happiness and joy can improve a
person's quality of life. Life is short, and people should
be able to enjoy it to the fullest.
To conclude, while it is true that excessive spending
can be viewed as insensitive in times of crisis or high
inequality, ultimately, how people spend their money is
a personal decision, one that should be made with
responsibility and awareness of the broader
implications.
