BK1: Long-Term Career Goals

Ever since I was young, my parents provided me everything, especially when it comes to
education. From my preschool days up until now that I am already in my first year in college,
they are the ones who carried me through thick and thin. My parents always told me this several
times, whether we are having our dinner or just watching some shows or series on television that
being able to graduate from college, having a degree, and having a good education will be your
greatest assets to be successful in the future. That’s the reason why graduating from college is
one of my most awaited moments in life. Imagining myself being able to wear a toga and get to
shake hands with the school heads as I receive my diploma, already makes me feel a different
kind of happiness, knowing that the years of hard work with lots of sleepless nights and a few
breakdowns will all be worth it in the end as I see myself achieving my dreams one by one.

I will be preparing myself in taking the licensure board exams to be a Certified Public
Accountant as soon as I graduated from my course, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Once I
passed the licensure exams and I have received my license, I have decided to apply for a job in
some big companies or in the government that is related to the field I have finished in college,
and I will be starting to earn some money to start my own business that I will make in the future.
The type of business that I will be making would be somehow related to my hobbies, like
painting, drawing, or something related to my course. I will also help in providing the needs of
my parents at home, my sister’s needs in terms of education, and spoiling myself with the things
that I wanted to buy that I cannot before.

When I was young, I had a lot of dreams that I want to achieve and to have, and a lot of
careers that I want to be. Up until now, there are nights that all I think about are those dreams
that are hidden at the back of my mind, and one of them is to help people that are in need. I have
a heart for helping people since this gives me a different kind of happiness as I see a smile form
on their faces. If I will have an opportunity, I will choose to make a charity for them and enroll
myself in graduate school to become a lawyer. Our country needs lawyers that will help the
oppressed citizens. Aside from these career goals, I am also planning to travel the world and
build my very own dream house in the future once I earned enough money. Most of all, the goal
that I want to achieve in the future is to be able to see myself living the life that I wanted and
being the person that I wanted myself to become as I turn my “what ifs” into action, and to be
able to thank myself for never giving up.
