Right now, I am teaching in our hometown where I grew up. I am happy and satisfied in where life
brought me. It’s super fulfilling to teach children and build a strong foundation of learning for them, you
know, start it young. It’s nice to think that I can mold them into being kind, nice, and giving.
Furthermore, to fill their heads with knowledge that they can later use in life. Right now, I am on the
same school as my mother, who is also a teacher and the one that encouraged me to take education as
a course.
It has always been a dream of mine to support my family, and I am so glad that I can do that now. The
biggest goal that I told myself is to let my parents experience fun things in life. I want to pay back their
sacrifices for me and show them that I appreciate every inch of it. It’s not because of utang na loob, but I
+
want people I love to feel loved and be happy. My father has tons of dreams in his bucket list, that I can
only give him if I can already provide for myself. Fortunately, I am now financially stable, thanks to my
work. I can now buy things I couldn’t before. I am also helping those relatives of ours who are struggling
financially that I promised myself I would if I succeed.
In another 10 years, I want the title ‘attorney’ before my name. It’s hard being a student who is an
educator at the same, I study and I work but I am dedicated to finish what I started. Reading crime cases
has always been my interest. And I know in my heart that I didn’t lose my dream of becoming the voice
of the voiceless. Now that I’m grown up, I want to fulfill that because I believe and trust myself that I can
be an attorney someday and stand up for people who are victims of the poor justice system in the
country. I’m sure I would be more mature by then and I could handle situations better than what I am
now.
Wherever life took you in the next 10 years, I just hope it would be for the best. I’m so proud of you for
coming this far. Again, I am Alexis C. Antolin, a 26 year old Licensed Professional Teacher and your future
attorney.
