1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”

school.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”
“I have so many questions in my life. Why are we poor? Why can't I go to college?

It’s my first step of my feet at the provincial university and didn’t expect that, it will also be the last. On
the day of registration, I went to school to register. As I was filling out the form, I think my mom can’t
afford me to study here. So I decided not to continue my enrollment. I preferred to leave and go to
Manila to work after I graduated from high school. “

“We were poor back then but, did you know what my happiest memory is? It was the time when
we finally had our own electricity that lightens our house. We’re so overwhelmed.

I was in high school back then when reality struck upon me, the sad truth that if you were born
in a poor family, you need to strive better and work harder. Imagine, a student without technology, and
is using a mere lamp as a hope to finish school works. Honestly, we’re not that poor before, but deep
inside I knew that my parents can’t afford to send to me to school and that is why I decided to see what
opportunities are waiting for me in Manila.

naranasan iyon.

My decision took me to Pasay, I worked as a market vendor who offers vegetables to customers along
with my cousin. There, I’ve experienced a brand-new life where it’s full of difficulties. Every day, I felt
like I was carrying the world behind me. I experienced that for over a year and a half.

Until one day, I got news from my relative in Bicol that a school was looking for youths to study for free,
we just have to pass the exam for us to be qualified. And I passed, I was fully glad because I know in
myself that I could finally be able to study.

I am grateful to people that God has appointed, through them I was given the chance to study and
learn several things not only academically, but also in character development, to have fellowship, and
most of all to know our Lord Jesus Christ and have a stronger relationship with Him. That was the most
important thing that guided me to graduate from ASHTEC. That was the moment when my faith in Him
started, that I still carry on up to this day.

That is why I am greatly thankful to ASHTEC because from the beginning of my journey up until the end,
they didn’t leave and even looked jobs for us. I joined a computer company in Quezon City as a
technician. There, I also developed my computer skills. I remember I didn't go to school for 1 month
because I went to the computer shop every day until I was called for guidance. I never thought that my
profession would be the same. I was also assigned to South Korea six times with the same company I
worked for. Right now I am in the buy and sell industry of computer and parts.

Although we are in the midst of pandemic, the computer business is still doing well. So, by God's grace
we were able to buy a car and a land property. And this year we are also planning to build our own
house. Indeed, I am grateful for the teachings of ASHTEC because it opened up the opportunities to
improve my life.

magiging anak nyo.

Therefore, to all students and to those who will be given the opportunity to study here at ASHTEC, enjoy
and be grateful for the opportunity given to you. The way teaching at this school is respective, you can
really get to know yourself and the values you’ll learn can be taught to your future children.
