to be an agile architect that can develop all kinda of

different shapes and structures.

My dream is to become an urban architect who can

one day ensure that every homeless in Egypt can have
a roof. I am aiming to do this by working on different
01
designs that can space saving and affordable.

The blank Facade Canvas

Hi, I am Lina, a senior architecture student at the
American University in Cairo. To me, being an ar-
Project II
chitect has been my dream since a young age. I Learning From Nature
was always mesmerized by buildings and their

03
designs and would always focus on every small
detail in the exterior and interior of a building.

This course has allowed me to develop my digital de-

sign skills. With the practice I have had on different The Parametric Facelift
digital tools such as Grasshoper and Rhino, I am now
able to develop from idea to final design. Through this
portfolio, the development I have been from project 1
to project 3 is visible. In the future, this will allow me

Exploring materials, developing techniques, deduc-
ing conclusions and extracting parameters.

In the first phase, the focus was on the exploration

of different materials to use. Different approaches to
both casting and creating molds were also explored
along with observing and understanding the different
outcomes they resulted in. The extracted conclusions
were then taken into considerations to make decisions
for the next phases of the project. The conclusions de-
duced were expressed as parameters that were the
key to controlling the results of each experiment de-
pending on the desired outcomes.
