This chapter presents the literature and related studies. The study habits of the
academic performance of the students. The second part is focuses on the successful of the

By learning the ways that you learn the best, you will be successful in your studies.
Katelyn (2013) identifies the fourteen positive study habits in which the students can use or
do in order to improve their academic performance. They are: attending all classes, reviewing
your notes daily, reading material prior to it being covered in class, study daily, have atleast
one conference with the professor, develop and learn a word list for the course, read materials
to improve your background in the course (other than text), attend help session, attend
learning resource lab when available, develop a list of possible questions, ask questions in
class, study an old exam (when available), avoid a last minute cram session, and sleep at least
8 In the same vein, Harper and Row (2009), highlights the good study habits as : Studying
every day, Creating a quiet place at home or anywhere to study, Turning off the phone, TV
and other devices that may disturb you when studying, Listening to soft music or white noise,
Studying in a way that suits your learning style, Taking regular breaks, Studying early (do not
wait for last minutes), Studying the hardest things first, spending more time on topics you
find difficult,Asking for help if one is struggling with his studies, taking notes as one studies

Time management is also effective and essential for all of us, whether you are a
student or anyone else. There are many kinds of factors that which can affect on how well the
students manage their time and in what ways. Some are excellent at managing their time and
others are not. We can assist our learners to be better at managing their time, whether its an
online learning environment or any other. However, studies reveals that the effect of time
management training on time management practices varies, and there is therefore a need to
important the self-regulated learning enabler, the affects of learning in the online learning
environment. An automated adaptive time management enabling system was used to guide
the students on how to manage their time more effectively. The system assisted the students
in their time management through visual reinforcement, adaptive release, learning monitors
and learning motivators. The findings shows that the use of the time management enabling
system facilitated and guided the students in studying the course in a consistent manner and
aided students in practising more effective time management thus impacting performance. In
summary, positive changes were made to their time management behaviours and these
strategies and activities that naturally correspond with their predisposition will make
university students better learners and better learners and better equip them to become
proficient, versatile, and productive information and industrial technologists in the twenty-
first century. In this study, students at Cagayan State University in Lasam, the Philippines,
who were asked about their preferred learning styles, study habits, and academic
accomplishment level. The study used a descriptive correlational research design n with a
total of 75 respondents who were chosen at random for the investigation. The researcher used
Learning Strategies and Study Habits and Attitudes toward Study. According to Reyes, Betty;
pertinent study topic because it serves as proof of the student’s learning. In this study,
learning strategies, study habits, and study attitudes are tested as potential mediators model
was developed and tested using structural equation modeling. The primary findings
demonstrate that study habits, learning strategies, and attitudes serve as a mediator between
school engagement, learning techniques and study habits are essential for obtaining high
academic achievement.

Study habits and its impact on secondary school student academic performance in
biology in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Ebele Uju, F. Olofu Paul A (2019). One
studies through their study habits. In other words, the habits that pupils develop while in
school. A student cannot excel in school without effective study techniques. So, this study
looked into how study practices affected secondary school pupils’ academic performance in
Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. One null hypothesis served as the study’s compass. The
plan for the study was a descriptive survey research approach. 1050 senior secondary school
pupils from Abuja the Federal Capital Territory, made up the study’s sample. Questionnaires
were utilized as the data gathering tool. Chi-square was used to analyze the data. The study’s
conclusions showed a strong correlation between students’ academic achievement and their
study habits. Teachers and school guidance counselors were advised to guide students on how
