1.

Reading for the gist and skimming is a strategy in reading to get the main idea
or main content of a text, magazine book and others quickly. why? because the goal
is the same to find the main idea. reading for the gist is a way to find the main
idea of a paragraph while skimming the main idea of the book thoroughly.

2. Gist is often understood as clues because only the core of a paragraph is the
keyword. In the paragraph there is a main sentence which is understood as a clue.
example: before answering detailed comprehension questions on a short story,
learners read it quickly for gist, and then match the text to a picture that
summarises what happens in the story.

3. The part or the opinion that Tom Collins was talking about is whether the tv is
good or the Internet, which is why the tv isn't important anymore because of the
internet is accessible everywhere, but it's also still a place for information.
This is my way as well as a step in finding the answer to the question:
first read the title, then read the first paragraph quickly, mark each main
sentence, then write and conclude.
