Good morning, honourable adjudicators, principal, teachers, and fellow opponents.

A warmth welcome to all. I am Chris Wong, the captain of the affirmative/opposite team. I
am here to argue for/against the motion “xxx”. The release of an artificial intelligence, ChatGPT,
stirred up a lot of controversies over its potential to revolutionise many industries and change
individuals’ life. I will give three arguments to support my belief.

To begin with, the most obvious reason is the irreplaceability of personalised function which
could customize students’ learning experience in AI. It is worldwide acknowledged that a wide
array of academic resources are stored in the searching engine. With the help of Artificial
intelligence, the computer takes decisions based on previously gathered information, called
algorithms. YouTube is the flawless illustration of algorithms. Online platform could not only
predict the user’s preference, but also recommend specific videos in order to satisfy user’s
interest. Therefore, when a student is busy searching for learning videos, the AI algorithm works
to recommend the increasing number of these videos. Thus, a huge surge of students’ interest as
well as enthusiasm could be made.

Apart from that, the accessibility of learning is progressed by AI. Artificial Intelligence
overcomes human limitations. Teachers require breaks from their continuous work. On the
contrary, artificially intelligent machines can work for 247 without taking any breaks. A more
feasible option is provided to students, which could be used anytime and anywhere. Students
could also take courses from leading and famous universities without physically attending as
zoom is widely used around the globe. With no limitation of time and place, students are more
likely to make a breakthrough in improving academic results.

Besides, AI technology could respond with target learning feedback to students with no
human errors. If the computer is programmed properly, it is able to avoid mistakes that are often
committed by humans. Take math works, 3D trigonometry, as an example. In spite of the help of
tools, students could not draw a proper 3D diagram. Nonetheless, if students utilize AI
technology properly, it could accurately depicted a flawless triangular pyramid. Hence, students
could understand the full image of the triangle and dig into the math theory deeply. With the fine
and vast amount of datum, students could get the positive learning response.
To reiterate, embracing AI could not only customize students’ learning experience, but also
improve the accessibility and give the target feedback. Therefore, I am strongly for today’s
motion. Thank you.
