Real Numbers

In this section, we shall denote the following sets of numbers

Definition of Terms

Natural numbers is a set of counting numbers.

Whole numbers is any positive number that does not include a fractional or decimal part.

Integers is a set of whole numbers including the negative and positive counting numbers including
zero.

Rational numbers is a set of numbers which can be expressed as a ratio of two integers a and b.
Say Rational numbers = a/b, where b is not equal to 0.

Irrational numbers is a set of numbers which cannot be expressed as a ratio of two integers. The
decimals of irrational numbers are non - repeating and non-terminating.

Lastly, real numbers denoted by is a set of rational and irrational numbers. Thus, any
numbers that is defined is a real number.
