1.0 INTRODUCTION

A family day is a planned occasion that is essential for creating strong bonds and
lasting memories among family members. They provide an opportunity for families to spend
quality time together, away from the distractions of everyday life, and make priceless
memories. The family day can be tailored to suit the interests and preferences of each family
whether it is a day spent outdoors, exploring a new place, or a cozy day at home, A family
day can foster understanding among family members. The most common and easiest way to
gather everyone for a family day is during the festive seasons.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri, also known as Hari Raya Puasa, is a significant holiday
celebrated by the Muslim community in Malaysia and many other parts of the world. It marks
the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and is a time for Muslims to come together with
their families, strengthen bonds, and celebrate the joyous occasion. Hence, Hari Raya
Aidilfitri is celebrated to conclude Ramadan's holy month of fasting because it is regarded as
a celebration as it marks a person’s success in discipline and self-resistance. During Eid in
Malaysia, families may gather to greet each other for forgiveness and share a festive meal
together.

In Malaysia, a family gathering is not limited to parents and children. Instead, it is a

gathering of the big family consisting of grandparents, parents, uncles, aunties, in-laws,
cousins, and children. This once-in-a-year occasion gathers everyone from different states or
even countries in one specific place. However, these days, the family gathering for Hari Raya
is in one booked location such as Airbnb, homestay, and villa. There are many benefits to
gathering in the villa for Hari Raya, including having more space for the entire family to stay
together, the ability to prepare meals and snacks together in a full kitchen, and access to
amenities like a swimming pool or outdoor space for relaxation and fun.

Gathering as a family in one place, especially during special occasions like Hari Raya,
can create new memories and traditions that can be cherished for a lifetime. It provides an
opportunity for family members to bond, reconnect, and strengthen their relationships,
creating a sense of togetherness and belonging. As families grow, the need for more space
and accommodations may arise, and gathering in a larger space, such as a rented venue or a
family member's home, can provide the necessary comfort and convenience.

2.0 BACKGROUND OF THE EVENT

Hj. Ibrahim's Family Day is a heartwarming event that revolves around the cherished
value of family and the importance of spending quality time with loved ones. Rooted in
nostalgia, this special day is designed to create lasting memories and strengthen familial
bonds. The itinerary for Hj. Ibrahim's Family Day includes a range of engaging activities and
events that are carefully planned to cater to the interests and preferences of all family
members. These may include traditional games, cultural performances, family bonding
games, storytelling sessions, and shared meals. The activities are designed to encourage
interaction, foster communication, and create opportunities for family members to strengthen
their relationships and create lasting memories

The concept of Hj. Ibrahim's Family Day centers around the idea of reconnecting
with family, reminiscing about the past, and creating new memories to cherish in the future. It
is a day to honor the legacy of family and strengthen familial bonds and foster a sense of
togetherness among family members, promoting a sense of belonging and unity.

The event will be held on the fourth and fifth days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, dated 25
April until 26 April 2023. Azza Adila who has been assigned as the organiser, has booked a
Villa located at Nouri Villa, Hulu Langat, Selangor for 2 days and 1 night. The choice of
venue is carefully selected to provide a comfortable and serene environment for family
members to gather, relax, and bond. A total of 25 family members have given their
confirmation to Azza Adila to attend Hj. Ibrahim’s Family Day. The family members are
eagerly looking forward to the event, anticipating a joyous and memorable time filled with
laughter, love, and togetherness

Objectives of the event

● To strengthen family bonds among family members which are important for building
a healthy relationships.
● To instill love and unity while providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for
all who attend.
● To create cherished and create memories with each other
● To nurture a sense of gratitude between one another

3.0 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

There are a few aims and objectives of this Eid Ohana Day. The first one is to
strengthen family bonds. Eid is a time for families to come together and celebrate after a
month of fasting. The objective of the family day during Eid could be to strengthen family
bonds by spending quality time together, engaging in meaningful conversations, and enjoying
shared meals and activities.

Secondly, to instill love and unity. Eid is a time of forgiveness, compassion, and
spreading love. Family day during Eid could emphasize fostering love and unity within the
family by resolving any conflicts or differences, expressing appreciation and gratitude
towards family members, and reinforcing a sense of togetherness and solidarity.

Next, this Eid Ohana Day is to create cherished memories. Eid is a time for
celebration and joy. Family day during Eid could focus on creating cherished memories by
engaging in fun and enjoyable activities as a family, such as exchanging gifts, playing games,
cooking special dishes, or going for outings, creating lasting memories that family members
can cherish for years to come.

Lastly, it is to nurture a sense of gratitude. Eid is a time for Muslims to express

gratitude to Allah for the blessings received during Ramadan. Family day during Eid could
emphasize nurturing a sense of gratitude within the family by reflecting on and expressing
gratitude for the blessings of health, happiness, and togetherness, and encouraging acts of
kindness and generosity towards others.

4.0 THEME
“ Traditional and nostalgic”
The theme for the Hj. Ibrahim’s Family Day is traditional and nostalgic. There are
various traditional and nostalgic elements of Hari Raya Aidilfitri to incorporate in order to
make it special and meaningful for everyone.

The family members are needed to wear traditional clothes during the family day. The
organizer, Azza Adila has informed the theme color of the traditional clothes is blue and
brown. The family members are free to wear baju kurung, baju kebaya, baju melayu in any
shades of blue. By doing this, it can create a festive and unified atmosphere among family
members. On the other hand, traditional Malay dishes such as rendang, ketupat, pulut kuning,
and assorted types of kuih raya will be cooked and served during this Eid family day. As the
host of the villa allows cooking, some food will be freshly cooked. Also, the organiser has
informed us that there will be a potluck session where everyone brings a traditional dish to
share.

The organizer and the team have planned in conducting traditional Malay games
during the family day. The games such as lari dalam guni and galah panjang can be enjoyed
by both young and old, and are a fun way to bring everyone together. Implementing these
traditional elements into the family day makes the occasion nostalgic moments in celebrating
Malay culture as well as strengthening family bonds.

5.0 ORGANIZATION CHART
To ensure the success of this Hj. Ibrahim’s Day, certain family members have been assigned a
role. They are responsible for preparing and conducting the event. The organization chart is
below.

In order to ensure there is no discrepancy in financial usage for this Family Day a brief
budget plan is needed. The estimated budget for this event is RM 3,636.50, which includes

7.0 VENUE

The venue selection for this Hj. Ibrahim Family Day is Nouri Villa, located at Hulu
Langat, Selangor. This Nouri Villa is only a few km from the core of Hulu Langat, and the
villa is a private glass villa built in a gorgeous hillside location amidst trees. The Nouri
Villa’s encompassing glass walls, which can be completely opened to provide a view of the
garden, pool, rivers, and tropical plants tastefully blended into the facade, are a standout
feature. This location can be easily booked online via the Airbnb platform, which is suitable
for this family day as it guarantees privacy because the host only ever rents out the entire
property for one event. On the other hand, after calculating the cleaning fees, the venue rental
is RM 2,585 per night which is within this event budget plan. The reviews from previous
guests in Nouri Villa are very positive and promising and the program manager, Azza Adila
decided to not let go of this golden opportunity to book this location.

This villa has good accessibility as the facilities’ usability and provision for visitors with
requirements or limitations. It includes elements that it as the spacious venue that make the
villa simpler and more comfortable for all the family members. On the other hand, the villa is
only a one-floor villa that has no second or third floors. Taking into consideration some
elderly family members who might have physical pain or difficulties climbing the stairs, this
villa is a perfect location with great accessibility for those with mobility issues

As there are 25 family members gathering in this villa, hospitality and comfort must be
prioritized. This Nouri Villa has great facilities, including great amenities that offer
convenience and comfort to the guests. It has spacious parking lots that will ease the family
members to park their cars.

 On the other hand, this villa has 7 bedrooms in total, as well as a spacious area for
outdoor and indoor activities. The villa has a WIFI connection and is completely
air-conditioned. A fully equipped kitchen, a raised counter with three barstools, a small living
room with a flat-screen TV, a dining area, and a spacious living room are all accessible from
the entrance. Thus, it is comfortable to equip 25 family members for this family day. All the
bedrooms have a King-size bed, a closet, and a bathroom with an integrated shower. Align
with the plan of activities, to have a performance night with the baju raya show, this villa is
equipped with the great entertainment value of a set of karaoke together with a quality audio
system.

9.0 EVENT PROGRAM

Activities Description

Burlap Bags Race Game - Lari Dalam Guni

A competitive game in which participants place both of
their legs inside sack bags that reaches their waist or
neck and jump forward from a starting point toward a
finish line.

Bowling Kelapa
1. The player must be positioned at the base of the
starting line and is not permitted to move beyond
that line when resetting the coconut
2. In order to prepare the mineral bottle that has
already been disregarded, the subject must swing
and roll the coconut not throw it.
3. Rolling technique is only acknowledged. If a
person uses another person's technique, they will
likely be attacked and not mark their territory.
4. The most frequently predicted use of the team
that contains the mineral bottle is as a winner

Balance The Ball Game

1. Balance the ball on your spoon and walk as fast
as you can to the finish line and back again, but
don't let the ball fall off, and cannot use your
hands
2. When you get back to the start, pass the ball to
your friend's spoon without using your hands.

Paper Town Game

Divide your group into 3 teams. Distribute 20 sheets of
paper to each team. Using only the paper, instruct each
team to construct the tallest, free-standing tower. Allow
ten minutes for planning and construction. When the
time has elapsed, measure the height of each tower and
announce the winner.

BBQ
Barbecue, is an outdoor meal, usually a form of social
entertainment, at which meats, fish, or fowl, along with
vegetables, are roasted over a wood or charcoal fire.

10.0 EVENT TENTATIVE
The designated family members, as per the organization chart have discussed the appropriate
activities for this family day. With the lead of the program manager, Azza Adila, the event
will be filled with many activities that are suitable for all ages. The grandparents, aunties,
uncles, and kids will have fun participating in the related games. It is important to conduct
fun and relatable games as it will inspire all family members to participate a result of
fostering love and strengthening family bonds.

11.0 RISK MANAGEMENT
Potential Description of Risk

12.0 CONCLUSION
It is great to plan an opportunity to gather families together to celebrate Eid through an
organized family day. Apart from the celebration that marks the conclusion of Ramadan's
one-month fast, also it is a perfect time for the family members to be thankful for what they
have and to improve their connections with their family. Sharing meals and participating in
various activities for 2 days and 1 night, will create a moment to express joy and love, ask for
and receive forgiveness, and encourage a sense of community and togetherness.

Overall, the Hj. Ibrahim Family Day is a significant event that unites family members to
live together in one house and commemorates the virtues of community, forgiveness, and
love. It is a moment to be thankful and show appreciation for life's blessings. Therefore, this
event can be an annual event so there is a specific time for loved ones to get together, eat
meals together, give and receive gifts, and take part in various activities. Such gatherings
would only happen once a year and might bond a closer relationship with the family.
Regardless of the location and activities, this family day event would be characterised by
sentiments of happiness, cohesion, and a sense of connection with family members.
