I. LEARNING COMPETENCIES
During the lesson, the learners shall be able to

a. Describe the relevance of the subject, and its economic importance;


b. Define and explain the entrepreneurial characteristics;
c. Know the advantages and disadvantages of being an entrepreneur;
d. Know the different job opportunities of an entrepreneur.

B. Motivation

Good Morning Class!

The teacher will ask question “Class, who among you here wants to open or start up
a business? If you have the opportunity now, what kind of business is it? Why?
(Student will answer the question) Nice! What inspires you to open that kind of
business? How about the others? Okay class, since not all of you here doesn’t want
to be a entrepreneur, I will ask you,”

1. What are your dream/goals in life?


2. What do you want to be in the near future?
3. What motivates you to pursue that dream?
4. Who inspires you to pursue that dream?

After asking those questions, the teacher will emphasize to the students that there
are those individuals who are motivated to fulfill their dreams in life because of
their status of living.
Also, the teacher will; give a clear example of a particular person who is considered
“the richest man in the country” in the person of Henry Sy, Sr.

“Before we go on to our lesson proper, I will show you a short video clip of Henry Sy,
Sr. to inspire and motivate you on your dreams in life”

(*It is to be noted that a video clip about the story of Henry Sy Sr. will be
presented)

D. Lesson Proper

- The students will be asked about their ideas on entrepreneurship based on


the motivational activity.

- The teacher will ask the students with the following questions:

1. What is Entrepreneurship?
(A student will volunteer to answer)
“Very good! Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and
running a new business, which is often initially a small business.

2. What do you call to a person engaged in entrepreneurial activities?


(Another student will volunteer to answer)
“Good! The people who create these businesses are
called entrepreneurs. Next question is”
3. What are the characteristics that an entrepreneur should have to
Possess? (Teacher will call a student to answer)
The following are the Characteristics of an Entrepreneur:
1. Positive - with the roller coaster ride that is
entrepreneurship, staying positive helps the team
get through very low lows
2. Opinionated - ready and willing to take a stand for
how they believe things should be done
3. Resourceful - when there are so many unknowns, it
takes unique talent to put everything together on
the fly
4. Passionate - true enthusiasm and energy around
the work that they do
5. Confident - when someone looks you in the eye and
tells you they can do it, even if it’s farfetched,
you’re more likely to believe them
6. Hardworking - they love putting in the hours and
realizing a sense of satisfaction when accomplishing
goals
7. Forward-Looking - able to anticipate trends,
opportunities, and future organizational challenges

“Can you cite some examples of successful entrepreneurs in national and local
setting”. (Student will answer)

“So today, we’re going to have an activity”.

Instructions: Among the Characteristics of an Entrepreneur,


choose 3 to 4 characteristics that you have applied in your life. Make 3-4 paragraph
essay, each paragraph should contain one characteristics with an introductory, body,
and conclusive sentences. The teacher will check the output after. (15 minutes)
“Okay class, from your activity, what have you learned about the characteristics
of successful entrepreneurs?”(Student will answer)

The teacher will emphasize to the students the importance and appreciate the role of an
entrepreneurship in helping Filipino families rise from poverty.
