1 Treaty of Hudaibiyah

Ans: In one of the condition of treaty of Hudaibiyah anyone who flees to Makkah will not be
returned to Makkah.

Ans: The treaty of Hudaibiyah reflects the Holy Prophet (PBUH) inclination towards a
peaceful resolution of all the problems on their way to Madinah, Allah revealed to Holy

the banner of Islam.

Ans: In Muslims camps, the rumor about the murder of Hazrat Usman (R.A) spread. The Holy

Muslims. He called upon his companions to take a pledge to fight until death to take
revenge of Hazrat Usman’s (R.A) blood. The pledge was taken under a tree on the hand

Ans: Holy Prophet (PBUH) decided to perform the pilgrimage (Umrah) along with his
Companions in the following months of Zul-Qabah 6 AH. Holy Prophet (PBUH) Along
with 1,400 Muslims left Madinah for Makkah in year 628 A.D. They wear Ihram and
took with 70 camels to sacrifice.

Ans: There are two conditions of treaty of Hudaibiyah:
1) The Muslims shall return this year without perform the pilgrimage (Umrah).

Ans: The Quraish leaders deputed Sohail bin Amr, one of their leader to negotiate a treaty
of peace. After his meeting of his Holy Prophet (PBUH) a ten year treaty was
concluded. It included following conditions:
1) Perfomance of Umrah:
Muslims should return this year without performing the pilgrimage.
2) Stay in Makkah:
Muslims many come next year to perform the pilgrimage but shall not
stay in Makkah for more than three days.
3) Visit to Holy city unarmed:
The Muslims shall visit Holy city unarmed. Only swords would be allowed
but that too shall remain in their sheaths.
4) Peace to prevail for 10 years:
Peace between Muslims and Quraish would last for a period of 10 years
during which both parties would live with full security and neither party
would fight the other.

5) Entering into alliance:
Anyone of the Arab times may enter into an alliance or treaty with the
Holy Prophet (PBUH). In the same way, any tribe will be free to ally itself
with Quraish.
6) Anyone of Quraish who flees from Makkans to Madinah:
Anyone of Quraish who flees from Makkah to Madinah shall be returned
to Quraish, but any Muslims who flee to Makkah will not return to the
Muslims.
7) Muslims shall not take back with them the Muslims:
The Muslims shall not take back with them the Muslims living in Makkah
nor shall they stand in the way of anyone from among themselves wishing
to remain in Makkah.
8) Quran declaring treaty as manifest victory:
Allah revealed to Holy Prophet (PBUH) declaring this treaty as the
manifest victory for the Muslims,“ Surely, we have given you a victory a
very clear victory”.

miles away from Makkah. The residents of the city including the chieftains of the
clans treated Prophet (PBUH) rudely.

Ans: On the eve of the Prophet (PBUH) return to Makah, he offered prayers at Makkah. A

Q # 1: Write a note on the boycott of Hashemite by Quraish (exile of Muslims from Makkah,
ban on all essential items reaching Muslims)?
Ans: Confederacy of Quraish:
Non-believers of Makkah having exhausted all their resources of persecution, Injury
and condemnation of holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) now resorted to boycott him and members
of his noble family Banu Hashim.
Drafting of agreement by Quraish:
In the 7th year of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) mission all the chiefs of Makkah drafted
an agreement against the Hashemites. Under the agreement the total boycott of
Hashemites was proclaimed, nobody was entitled to have any relations with them
including the sale of foodstuff. The agreement was signed by all the leaders of Makkah and
was hung on the kabah.
Sha’ab of Abu Talib:
Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) along with Abu Talib and his family was compelled to retire
into a scheduled valley of Makkah known as Sha’ab of “Abu Talib”. It followed a period of
great hardships for Banu Hashim and Muslims. The plight of children was particularly
pitiable. This state of affairs continued for 3 years.
End of boycott:
At last, some of the kinds Quraish were deeply moved by the suffering and
hardships of Banu Hashim and took the initiative to the end the social boycott. In addition
Allah revealed to the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) that the earth warms have eaten everything
written in the pact except the name of Allah and when the Quraish leaders found it to be
true they end the social boycott.

Ans: Events of Revelation:
Prophet (P.B.U.H) was pristine and stainless from his youth. He was kind and
sympathetic to everyone he meets. He detested idol-worship. He often went to cave
of Hira and prayed there for several hours to Allah.
Early Signs of Revelation:
The early signs which indicated the arrival of revelation were the true dreams
of Prophet (P.B.U.H) whatever vision he would have in his sleep would occurs
exactly in reality. He used to retreat alone for several hours in cave of Hira. He used
to take some supply with him and when he retires with food he come back to take
fresh food supply for next period.
Event of 1st Revelation:
When the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) reached the age of 40, one day in month of
Ramazan 610 A.D when he was in the deep meditation in the cave Jibraeel (A.S)
came to him and said, “Read”. He replied “I am not a reader”.
Conversation among Prophet (P.B.U.H) and Hazrat Jibraeel (A.S):
Prophet (P.B.U.H) said Hazrat Jibraeel (A.S) held me tightly then released me
and said, “Read”. And I replied “I am not a reader”. He did this for three times and I
replied the same. At last, he recited the first five ayats of Surah Allah.

4 Migration to Madinah

Ans: These are some events which took place and ultimately resulted in migration to
Madinah i.e. opposition, persecution and torture by the Quraish.
The social boycott of the tribe of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) by the Quraish and the
Quraish meeting at Dar – ul – Nadwa in which they (Quraish) decided to assassinate
the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) led to Migration to Madinah.
Q # 2: What was the significance of Dar-un-Nadwa?
Ans: Dar-ul-Nadwa was the council hall where non believers elite decided to get rid of
Islam by assassinating the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) in a join attempt. In 62 A.D the
leaders of Quraish met in the council hall and they all were united on the suggestion
of assassinating the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H).
Q # 3: State the miracle of Quran recitation that helped Prophet (P.B.U.H) in his
Migration?
Ans: The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) recited verses from Surah Al-yaseen, which made them
invisible to the enemies’ eyes who had surrounded Prophet’s houses from all sides.

individual status of Muslims. They were free to preach and profess their religion.
The migration gave an opportunity to Prophet (P.B.U.H) to establish on Islamic
state. The migration gave the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) a distinctive position has he
was nominated as head of Madinah.

Ans: Madinah was inhabited by the three types of Jews namely; Banu Nadir, Banu
Quraiyazah and Banu Qaiynuqa and to idol worshipping tribes known as Aus and
Khizraj.

Q No 1: Briefly describe the journey of Yasrab (Madinah).
Ans: Preparation of Journey / Migration:-
Abu Bakr (R.A) prepared two camels with necessary provisions for the
journey. He hired a guide who renews the roads leading from Makkah to Madinah.
Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) left Makkah the first day of
Rabbi – ul – Awwal. Rather than heading toward Madinah, they went South-west to
Yemen.
 Stay in the cave of Thawr:-
They reached the mountain of thawr, where they stayed in a cave at the top
of the mountain. They stayed in the cave for three nights. Abdullah the son of
Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) would stay with them at night and early in the morning he
would return to Makkah to learn what the Quraish were plotting Amir, Hazrat Abu
Bakr (R.A) slave would cover the footsteps of Abdullah between Thawr and Makkah
by herding sheep around the area. He would also provide fresh milk supply to Holy
Prophet (P.B.U.H) and his loyal companion.

Quraish offered one hundred Camels for anymore who could bring the Holy
Prophet (P.B.U.H) dead or alive. Some reached the cave of Thawr, but turned back
when they saw an acacia tree about the height of a man, in front of the cave and a
spider had woven its web at the entrance. Two pigeons had come to nest at the
entrance as well. All these indicated that the cave was empty.
 Masjid – e – Quba (First Masjid of Islam):-
On 8th of Rabi – ul – Awwal Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) reached Masjid – e – Quba
which is located at short distance from Madinah Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) stayed in
Quba for four days, and built the first Masjid of Islam which was called Masjid – e –
Quba.
 Stay in house of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari (R.A):-
On 12th of Rabi – ul – Awwal after leading the Friday Prayer and delivering the
first Friday Sermon, Prophet (P.B.U.H) head towards Madinah where he was given a
warm reception. The camel of Prophet (P.B.U.H) known a “Qaswa” stopped before
the house of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari (R.A) where Prophet (P.B.U.H) stayed for seven
months and his own Apartment was completed.
 “Madinah – Tun – Nabi”:-
From the time the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) started to live in Yasrab, its name
was changed to Madinah – tun – Nabi {the city of Prophet (P.B.U.H)}

Battle of Uhad

Ans: Prophet (P.B.U.H) with 700 men reached the foothill of Uhud on 15th Shawwal. The

any attack which could come from the rear. Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) appointed 50
archers under the command of Abdullah bin Zubair (R.A).

 Turning Point in War:-

site and 3000 sacred hands completed the trench in 20 days.
4) Astonishment of Quraish:-
Allied forces were confident of an easy and quick victory but they come to an
abrupt halt when they found a deep long trench between them and the city. The
trench was quite unfamiliar to the Makkans and their allies Muslims confined them
outside the Madinah by throwing / hurling stones and arrows at them. Hence, the siege
of Madinah lasted for about 30 days.
5) Circumstances / Results Borne by the Confederates:-
Arabs were not accustomed to such a long drawn war. Their supplies began to
run short. Moreover the icy cold winds added insult to injury because of weather

Ans: at the breach of Treaty of Hudaibiyah, Banu Khuzah sought help and Justice from
their Muslim allies. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) demanded an immediate action. He laid
down three Conditions before Quraish either to pay the blood money to Banu
Khuzah end their alliance with Banu Bakr or declare the treaty of Hudaibiyah to be
null and void.

Ans: One the 10th Ramzan AH8 after full preparation, the Prophet (P.B.U.H) led an army
of 10,000 soldiers left for Makkah.
1) Members Of Prophet (P.B.U.H) Had A Meeting:-
When the news reach the Banu Hashim in Makkah members of Prophet
(P.B.U.H) came the city. Among them were Hazrat Abbas (R.A) and Abu Sufiyan
who was from Banu Ummaya Abu Sufiyan sought the pardon of Prophet (P.B.U.H)
and accepted Islam.
2) Prophet (P.B.U.H)Psychological Weapon:-
On 19th Ramzan Muslim army arrived outside decided to camp for the night.
He did not want to attack Makkah at night without any warning. So he ordered his
soldiers to light up small fires. The whole plain was lit up and offered an awe
inspiring spectacle. Makkans realized that it was impossible to resist such a huge
army.

entering Kaaba. Muslim army encircled Makkah from all sides Khalid bin Waleed
(R.A) from the right, Zubair bin Awam from left and Abu Ubaidah led the infantry.

The world has never seen a better example of tolerance and forgiveness than
that shown by our dear Prophet (P.B.U.H) at the time of the Conquest of Holy city
of Makkah when he was in full control of his worst enemies. These were the same
people who had treated him so cruelly.
5) Prophet’s (P.B.U.H) Wisdom In Forgiving Even Bitterest Of His
Enemies:-
Prophet (P.B.U.H) wisdom in forgiving even the bitterest of his enemies went
a long way in changing the minds about Islam. The harshest of Islam’s enemies
accepted it whole heartedly. It was more a conquest of hearts and minds than of a
city.
6) People Given Protection:-
The Prophet’s (P.B.U.H) wisdom in forgiving even the bitterest of his enemies

complete protection.
 Those who entered Kaaba.
 Those who laid down their arms.
 Those who entered the house of Abu Sufiyan.
