ID-FLOC

ID-FLOC polymer is a powerful, organic flocculant for settling drill solids. It is a synthetic polymer that can be
used in “Clearwater” drilling to flocculate all solids.

Application

Where clear water drilling is practical, ID-FLOC may be used to remove solids. It is most effective where large
settling pits are used, due to the increased retention time for aggregated solids to settle. The optimal
concentration of ID-FLOC should be determined by pilot testing. The consumption rate of ID-FLOC varies,
depending upon the amount and type of solids in the fluid. It should be added through the chemical barrel as a
dilute solution.

ID-FLOC solution should be prepared by adding 1 to 2 lb/bbl (2.85 to 5.7 kg/m ) of ID-FLOC to freshwater and
mixing for approximately 20 min to ensure adequate hydration. Dispersion of ID-FLOC can be improved by
premixing the dry powder in a small amount of oil (diesel, mineral or synthetic) prior to adding to the water.
The ID-FLOC solution is normally added to the system just below the shale shaker while circulating. It may also
be added at the mud ditch if the reserve pit is being circulated to ensure more settling time.

the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Packing and Storage

ID-FLOC is packaged in a 25 kg (55.1 lb), multi-wall paper sack.

Store at moderate temperatures in a well-ventilated and dry area.
