ID-POLYCOL

ID-POLYCOL polyalkylene glycol is a broad cloud-point, wide-molecular-weight-range additive designed for

medium-to-low salinity ID-POLYCOL systems. It improves shale stability, lubricity, high-temperature filtration
control, while also minimizing dilution rates and bit balling.

Typical Physical Properties

Physical appearance Clear to dark amber liquid.

Specific gravity 1.06-1.11
pH (2% solution) 8-11

Application

ID-POLYCOL additive is recommended for freshwater to seawater polyglycol systems. While polyglycols are
most effective when used in conjunction with an inhibitive salt in non-dispersed polymer systems, they can be
used as additives in most water-base systems.

Normal concentration of ID-POLYCOL range from 2 to 5% by volume of the liquid phase or 7 to 17.5 lb/bbl (20
3
to 50 kg/m ). After initial treatment, periodic treatment should be made to maintain the desired
concentration.

Advantages

 Improved lubricity
 Improve high-temperature filtration control.
 Improves shale stability.
 Reduced dilution rates and mud consumption.
 Reduced bit balling potential
 Low toxicity.

Toxicity and Handling

Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described in
the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Packing and Storage

ID-POLYCOL is packaged in 55 gal (208 ltr) drums.

Store in dry well-ventilated area. Keep container closed keep away from sources of heat or ignition.
